First Day In The Academy

I couldn't believe Leo and Renzo had the nerve to kidnapped me. I did not wanna be here. I needed to be looking for my mom.

Lexi finished telling us where our dorms are, so I headed down the cement sidewalk to mine. I shared it with a younger girl than me, with a high pony tail and glasses. She was a little chubby, but she was tall and had strong facial features.

My room was at least as big as my whole old house, complete with a twin bed, night stand, a lamp, and even a dresser. I had never really had a dresser, my clothes were usually just scattered across the floor of my room. This place was gonna be weird.

"So.. You're new here? You can ask me if you have any questions, my name is Lindsey." The other girl informs me. She is smiling, but I can see nervousness in her eyes. Probably from talking to a complete stranger.

I smile faintly and nod, replying, "I'm Cinder. I guess I'm a fire bender.. what are you?" I ask.

"I'm fire too!" She says, her face lightening up a little. "I'm just got here a few months ago, so we might be in the same beginners class."

I smile again, meaning it this time.

I was lucky enough that Lexi knew where I lived, and had got my clothes and bag for me since I was passed out. She packed everything I needed, even my old stuffed puppy, Alex. I smiled. My mom had given that to me when I was four. I was sixteen now, and had still kept it.

I neatly folded my few clothes and put them in my dresser, going to the bathroom then taking off mine for a well needed shower. I stood there, letting the water run over my body and sighed. Maybe I needed to be here, once I learned fire bending, I could leave and look for my mother.

After the shower it was dark, so I just put on my shorts and a tank top for jammies and went to bed. I fell asleep a few minutes after.

*DING DONG DING DONG DING DING DONG* a bell rings, waking me up. I sit straight up, startled. Lindsey helps a little and I get up quickly, going to the community room to open the front door. Standing there is a man that looks like he's in his thirties, and he is wearing a formal suit.

He clears his throat, and says " I am here to get-" I hear a little yelp behind me and see Sue. She looks right at the man, like she knows him. And I just stand there awkwardly. I motion for Sue to take my place, and she goes out the door glaring at the man, and they close the door staring their own conversation. I sigh and go back to my room.

Lindsey is sitting on her bed but before she asks who it is, I answer her "It was for someone else."She nods, understanding. I look at my alarm and see it would have only been five more minutes until we woke up anyway, so I start getting ready.

I wear boots again, with jeans and a black shirt. I brush down my bedhead, brush my teeth, then put on lip balm. I don't wear any makeup besides that. Mostly because I don't have any other makeup.

Lindsey gets ready before me, and make cereal for breakfast, thankfully she made me some too.

I eat quickly, devouring the marsh-mellow-maytees. I finish and put it in the sink, and get my bag for school.

This is the first time at a new school. Sounds familiar. I walk with Lindsey to the door, as we head to our class.
