I was astonished. Fire Bending?? Since when could I fire bend? My mom I knew for sure couldn't, but I didn't know about my dad. He kept lots of secrets.

I closed my eyes again trying to keep tears out when I though about my mom. She was gone, and I had to find her.

"So... When do we learn to bend.. Our.. Uh, elements?" Sue asks, wrinkling her nose as if it was something alien, which I guess to her and me, it was.

I sigh. And look at Leo. He had spikey brown hair and green eyes, he was tall and pretty skinny, with some muscles on his arm. He wore ragged clothes, and had a small brown satchel. I wonder what he keeps in there... I think.

Lexi answered Sue's question, saying; "Once we take you to the bending academy, made by avatar Korra, you will learn how from your bending masters." She smiles, "If you would pack as soon as possible, we would appreciate it."

Oh no. We can't leave! My mom is still missing. I bite the inside of my cheek. I have to stay.. I can't leave her alone with whoever took her. My father.

"I'm not going with you. I can't. I can learn how to 'bend' on my own. I have other, more important things to do." I tell Lexi. Her smile falters.

"Is what you have to do more important than saving the world?" She asks.

"Maybe not to you, but it will save a piece of mine. I don't care what you say. I have someone to find, and I don't wanna waste time at some strangers academy, Korra made or not." I say defiantly, then turn to leave.

I take two steps when someone puts their hand on my shoulder. I stifin, turning sideways, shove their hand off me. It's Leo. He had a look of desperaty in his eyes, but I looked away. My mom had to be found.

"At least come for a day." he says, smiling a little. "Trust me, fire bending might help you find whoever your looking for."

I squint at him and the room goes silent. "No." I say quickly. When he tries to reach for me again as I start to walk away, I turn back to him, and kick his hand. Well I'm glad I know self defense and karate from my mom. I think defiantly.

Leo looks shocked. Blood pounds in my ears and Luta says something I didn't really listen too. Sue just backs away.

I turn to the door again, and I leave the house. I won't leave when my mom needs me most.

I'm halfway home, when it starts raining. Great. Now my clothes will get soaked. I sigh. That stupid bending academy will have to do without me. I would learn how to fire bend on my own. It can't be that hard..

My thoughts vanished when I hear a snicker behinde me. The hairs on the back of my neck stick straight up, and I stiffen. I turn around, fast, but no one is there. I hear a pitter-patter of footsteps, but to late, someone catches me from beinde and puts a gag into my mouth. I try to yell but I can't. Someone binds my hands so fast as if they do it on a regular day basis.

I am freaking out now, kicking with my legs, but to no avail. I feel something sharp go into my side, right below my ribs, and start to feel sleepy.. I try to see my attackers but its to dark out, and rain is in my eyes. I can't even struggle now... I just want to sleep... And I black out.
