The Next Avatar: Training [Book1]

Travel to Arlentien

So.. Luta's the avatar? I had heard of an "avatar" in a book before, but they were stuff of legends. Not something real. Or at least that's what I believed.. Untill today.

Lexi told us everything. It turns out me and Sue have an "extra" special part that can come with our elements that we would be able to learn quickly. For most other people, it would take years.

Knowing that I'm special, doesn't really change anything, my mom had always told me I would be great one day. And I'm so glad she was right.

Lexi sent us to our dorms to pack for the trip to a even more elite training cram school. Luckily Lexi has a uncle there who can teach me to use lightning. Her aunt can teach Sue metal bending, and a group of four other leaders will teach Luta the four elements.

The boys decided they were gonna come to, so I will be learning lightning with Renzo, and Leo with Sue.

I use my satchel as a backpack from the school, I pack all of my things. Lexi helps me and then we were done. We say goodbye and I go outside to wait for the others.

Today is pretty dim, like the sky is sad. There's a large cloud over the whole sky. There's no rain, but the air smells like it.

I breathe in the cold air and see people and Renzo heading my way. Once they're almost here, Sue comes out too.

"Hey where's Luta?" Sue asks once she gets outside.

"I don't know, go check on her." Leo says.

Sue nods and heads back inside. I pull my hood over my head in the cold. Leo and Renzo make small talk, but I don't follow very much. I try and rear my head on the bench, but a large bang keeps me out of resting.

To my left I see something move in the bush. I get up to check it out..
Leo comes with me but stays a few steps behind, but Renzo stays there.

I look behind the bush, and sure enough, a lemur stands there looking up at me. I smile and motion for it to come to me, and its scared at first, but eventually shifts my finger tips.

"You can probably keep him, lots of people have lemur companions. They're very loyal creatures." Leo says smiling.

I smile back at him and when I look back at the lemur, it looks at me with a trusting look in its eyes. I spread out my arms and it leaps into them

"Ill name you Paku" I tell it. It leaps onto my shoulder and wraps its tail around my shoulder.

Me and Leo go back to the front dorm doors and puts it there, now with Lexi.
"Cool lemur." Lexi says. I nod and let her tell us where were going.

"We're going to a secret island, but I'm afraid I'll have to blind-fold you all when we get there, only certain people can know where it is. Also, we going gonna fly there so I hope no one gets air-sick." She say.

We all nod and we start walking to Lexi's bison, Arnold. It's a boy bison, with a strange habit of eating blueberries. Yes, weird.

The flight took around an hour, and when we got there we figured out that Leo gets flying-sickness. We were welcome with open arms, and all the benders there were really nice.

We got to stay in separate boy/girl tents, right inside the village. We all settled down and went to the meeting to who are trainers would be.

To be honest, this island is the safest place I've ever felt.
