3RD POV
Nicholas remained unmoving in a sitting position on the bed. He was fighting the urge to flinch every time the healing paste touched his torn skin areas, due to the damage caused from his collision with the glass window, but didn't want to make things difficult for his saviour, who apart from having saved him twice, was now as gently as possible cleaning his wounds.
The light blue forcefield was still active and taking away most of the boy's pain. Looking down at his hands, he noticed that the scratch in his right palm was glowing blue, and after a few moments, the light disappeared, revealing a completely healed hand.
The boy watched it in awe. Turning his head towards the woman, or rather, Selin, he caught her staring at the tissue she used to wipe the blood from his injuries. Her eyes seemed intrigued, almost mesmerized at the site. His stomach twisted uncomfortably at the thought of her being interested in his blood. ' What if she is a psychopath? Or a deranged person? '.
Thoughts were filling his head once again, his anxiety spiking up as well. Swallowing his nerves, Nicholas cleared his throat and fixed his posture. It was finally time to get some answers. Hunter still hadn't woken up, so he made sure not to speak too loud.
Nicholas: - Is something the matter?
He asked the woman.
Nicholas: - Not to be rude or anything,.... But you have been staring at that paper for a while.
Selin looked at him with an unreadable expression plastered on her face. It unnerved him a bit.
Selin: - I have never seen blood like this.
Nicholas was confused. What did she mean by that? Has she never seen any blood in her life? Lucky her...
Nicholas: - I... I don't think I understand.
The woman rolled her eyes and gave a tired sigh. Then she took a small knife from her pocket and held it in her hand. The teen's heart skipped a beat at the sight of the sharp object. Then with extremely fast moves, she drew the blade and slashed her left palm. Nicholas recoiled from the woman's action, but froze in shock as, instead of the usual red blood, a light blue substance was dripping down her hand.
To say the boy was shocked would be an understatement. What he was witnessing was something unreal. He had already given up on the possibility he was in a comma or in some sort of weird dream, though seeing stuff like this was yet another struggle for his logic.
Selin: - You see. I'm not like you.
A few moments pass in silence. In the meantime the cut was slowly closing by itself.Nicholas: - So... you're a witch?
Selin's eyes widened for a split second, like she had been caught off guard.Selin: - I am a sorceress.
She stated firmly. The woman's face didn't change, but the atmosphere had become increasingly tense. The protagonist was not gonna push the matter more. He wisely chose to change the subject.
Nicholas: - Where.....where are we?
Selin: - You're in my home. And before you start questioning me about where that is, I'm pretty sure it isn't located anywhere near a place you know. And from what I understand, you have no idea where you are, how you got here, or anything related to this world. Am I correct?
The teen opened his mouth, but immediately shut it, giving slow nod in response.
Selin: - Would you mind telling me the chain of events that led you two here?
