3RD POV
The moth estate was quiet. Nobody uttered a single word. Lyra, Ronan and Airos sat there frozen and unmoving like statues, after Severed had finished narrating the sequence of events that took place at the center of the plaza. The talking limb, despite not transferring the memories directly into their brains, thoroughly explained in great detail the fight. Though, it wasn't really the battle itself that had the three deep in thought, rather the contribution the two humans provided.
Airos: - I don't believe it. Humans are unable to use magic. The books say it clearly.
Airos raised an accusing finger towards Hunter, his Lavender eyes narrowing in suspicion. Had he heard such preposterous words from anyone else, he wouldn't have believed them at all. However, he was very much aware of how trustworthy Severed was. Still, he had a hard time accepting the gravity of the words.
Zana: - Really? If I recall correctly, the only information we ever had on humans was from 300 years ago, and that was based on only one human. And most of the records are either gone or incomplete. Plus, we didn't even know of their existence, until she appeared.
Airos grumbled in annoyance.
Airos: - Then how do you explain that this human was able to use magic? In the history books, the human woman had described how her world was. And she stated that magic did not exist there.
Zana didn't reply. None of them could. They had no idea as to why Hunter was suddenly able to produce magic. It truly was an unprecedented situation, though due to the lack of information, they were all completely in the dark.
Zana: - So what? You're saying she lied?
Airos: - I'm saying we cannot trust them.
Ronan: - No, I think we can.
Everyone's eyes turned to him. The beast mage scratched his snow-white hair.
Ronan: - For one, Severed himself has checked their memories and they have no bad intentions, plus the captain trusts them enough to let them stay here. Not to mention the king himself knows of their existence and has allowed them to live in the kingdom, so long as they keep their real identities a secret. And more importantly....!
Ronan paused dramatically and pointed to Nicholas.
Ronan: - He gives nice head pats.
Nicholas blushed, while Zana just laughed.
Lyra: - Not to mention just how adorable he looks!! There's no way someone so cute could be evil!!
Nicholas was bright blue, ready to faint from embarrassment, still not used to receiving that kind of attention. Airos glared at them, but his gaze softened a bit when he looked at Lyra.
Airos: - Hmpf, fine. But are you sure they will be able to survive the captain's training?
The air stilled immediately. Dread overtook Zana's features. Lyra and Ronan were looking at each other uncomfortably.
Nicholas: - W...what are you talking about?
Airos: - Well it's obvious, isn't it? Since you are now residents of this estate, you're obligated to follow the captain's orders to the letter. And she does not tolerate weakness. Therefore, there's 100% chance that you will be joining us tomorrow for training.
Ronan stood up and approached Nicholas, placing a firm hand on his shoulder and looking at him with a grim, dreadful expression.
Ronan: - it was nice knowing you humans.
