Mothers Day

Today was Mothers Day and I hadn't seen a single one of my kids all morning. Will was kind enough to take Evan, Elizabeth, and Micheal to their friends houses without any issues. Or so he says.

Lately, I feel as if I can't trust William. I mean, those five kids go missing at his pizza place. Then he refuses to speak to the police but helps them clean up to quote, "help them find things". I just don't know what Will has gotten himself into, but he needs to get himself out before it comes back to bite his kids!

I was sitting on the edge of my bed, wondering all of these things, when suddenly I heard the garage door open. Will was back.

I got up and headed downstairs, ignoring the fact that I was still in my robe. I walked quickly down the steps to meet Will. Maybe he went ahead and picked up the groceries for the week. Maybe he has another dead kid on his hands.

"Clara, you should be in bed," Will's voice echoed in the empty halls without Elizabeth's constant screaming.

I met Will's eyes, he looked so tired. "I wanted to greet my husband," I spoke calmly, though I was anything but calm. Will didn't smile. I noticed he hadn't been smiling lately. I wonder if his depression has gotten worse. Maybe I need to make a call...

"You're going to ruin your surprises if you quit listening to me," he tsked. I shifted my footing as Will walked closer to me. "The kids would be very disappointed if you spoiled it before they saw your reaction."

"Since when do you care about the kids?" I snapped. Will's eyes widened a bit before his uninterested face came back. "S-sorry, I meant when did you care if I found out.."

Will shook his head. "Coffee?" he offered, suddenly having a coffee cup in his hand. "It's your favorite."

I took the cup graciously, happy that Will wasn't upset that I had snapped. "How's my brother?" I asked. "He hasn't called in a while. I'm nervous about him."

Will shrugged his shoulders. "We don't speak much at work. Henry's usually too busy handling some ignorant people who thinks everything and everyone works on their time," he answered. I took a sip of the coffee.

"He's always been so free spirited," I nodded along with Will. "Always wanting to keep the peace."

"He's a lot like you."

I found myself smiling at what Will said before I remembered how he refused to talk to the police and take responsibility for the missing kids. He still refuses to tell me what they found. He continues to say I'll find out when the media knows. But I am his wife, I deserve to know what happened with those kids inside of Freddy Fazbears. "How long will the kids be gone for?" I asked, changing the subject.
