An hour before the accident...

"Happy Birthday, Evan!" I cheered. Everyone was in the living room...everyone except for Mom. "Dad, where's Mom?"

Dad looked...rough. He seemed tired, slower. "Your mother is out running errands. I'm sure she'll be here for Evan's party tonight," he shrugged.

"Daddy, we want Mommy here," Elizabeth said. For once, she was being quiet. She seemed to grasp the concept that Evan was the special one today, and for that I thank her. The last thing I wanted to hear was her screaming.

"I want her here too, Lizzy," Dad sighed. "Evan, what do you want to do today?"

"Pizzeria!" he said. "I'd like to go to the pizzeria."

"Very well, go get into the car."

The three of us headed outside, getting into the backseat. Today Evan was in the middle, the highest seat. It was as if Elizabeth was trying to cherish him today...I don't know, she was acting really weird.

Dad came out afterwards, he seemed a bit more cleaned up. His black hair was gelled and styled, his eyebags seemed to be less drastic. He had his signature purple button up on but had put a baggy leather jacket over it. He got into the front and started up the car, driving us to the pizzeria.

"Can we get ice cream today?" Elizabeth asked. "I really want ice cream!"

"Evan," Dad directed the words to our brother. "Do you want ice cream?"

"Not really.." Evan trailed off. "But if Lizzy wants it she can have it."

Dad didn't respond, he just pulled into a parking spot. "Micheal-"

"-Stick with my siblings. Got it," I said. I knew the rules by now. "And nobody goes into parts and services. I also got that."

Dad didn't respond again, he just got out of the car and headed inside. I made sure Elizabeth and Evan were both with me before I followed him into Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria.

Business was booming since it was now summer. Kids were running around all over, Elizabeth ended up seeing a couple of her friends. She begged me to let her go with them, I said she could as long as she stayed in my vision. Elizabeth listened, well...she listened well enough. Only a couple of times I had to tell her to come back.

Evan didn't see anyone. He just held my hand the entire time. "Evan, if there's something or someone you want to see I can come with you to it," I sighed at my brother. He was a scaredy cat to say the least. Apparently he's been having some nightmares...? I don't know.

"Freddy," he said. "I want to see him."

"Ok."

I brought Evan over to wear the Golden Freddy was, the star of the show. He was next to the ball pit, handing children ice cream. Elizabeth was there with her friend, he handed her the ice cream and the two bounced off again, heading somewhere in the pizzeria.

"Do you want to get some ice cream?" I asked. Evan really wasn't the person who asked for things himself. He was shy, quiet, and very obedient. He was the complete opposite of Elizabeth.

"I dunno," he said. "I don't really want to get close.."

"I can go up there with you," I suggested. Evan still looked unsure about my question. "Come on, he can't hurt you."

I dragged Evan up to the seven foot tall animatronic. "Hello!" the animatronic greeted. "Here's an ice cream for you! And you! And everyone here! Welcome to Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria!"

I took an ice cream from Freddy's left hand and handed it to Evan. He looked pale. He was terrified of Freddy. I grabbed the other ice cream in Freddy's right hand for myself, bringing Evan away from the animatronic.

"You ok?" I asked.

Evan was still pale but he nodded. "He is terrifying," he whispered.

I nodded in agreement. "He sure is big."

About thirty minutes went by and Elizabeth rejoined us. Her friend must've left or something. Soon after, Dad was back. He looked terrible. "We're leaving," he said.

Nobody, not even Elizabeth, argued. I think all three of us knew that Dad wasn't okay. We followed him out to the car and got inside, nobody saying a single word until we were going.

"Dad, why aren't you taking us home?" I asked.

Dad didn't respond. I was getting tired of his no responses. "Where are you taking us?" I asked.

"To your mother," was all he said.

And then I noticed where we were.

We were at the hospital.

Mom was in the hospital.
