Algebra went exactly how I expected it too. Henry and Emilie shared heart eyes. Jamee and Ms. Fitz were on a first name basis. Could this day get any weirder?

The bell rung and Henry waited for me, giving Emilie a kiss on the cheek as she walked to find her friends. "Come on, let's get home," Henry said when I finally left the room.

"Can't," I said. "Mr. Fredricks wants to see me and Will. Then, I'm working on the project at Will's after while he works on those robot things for it."

Henry frowned but nodded. "I'll walk over and bring you some clothes. Knowing you, you'll stay up all night at his writing." I smiled, brushing Henry's shoulder.

"Tell Dad where I am," I said.

"Will do," Henry nodded before turning and walking away.

I inhaled before setting off in the direction of Mr. Fredricks class. It didn't take me long because of everyone leaving. I probably looked stupid walking away from the doors, but it didn't bother me that much. I knew Will would be there and that just made it 10x better.

I walked into Mr. Fredricks classroom, Will sitting at a chair in front of his desk. "Clara," Will nodded, patting the seat next to him. I smiled, walking over to sit next to him.

"You wanted to see us, Mr. Fredricks?" I said, cutting to the chase immediately.

Mr. Fredricks cleared his throat. "Yes," he nodded, pacing back and forth. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation in my class, and I had some questions about your idea."

"Ask away," Will nodded, tapping his fingers. "Just don't  take too long- we need to have time to work on it."

Mr. Fredricks briskly smiled, clearing his throat again. His smile was a tight smile, as if we had forced him to smile. It unsettled me. "Tell me about these robots, William," he nodded at Will.

"Me and my best friend, Henry Emily, want to be mechanics. I mainly focused on engineering a 'toy' which is almost like a robot. It has an exoskeleton, the outside which looks like a type of animal, and the endoskeleton, which is what gives it the lifelike movements. They completely function on their own, with a couple of safety programs set in place," Will explained. I let myself get tangled in his words, more like lost in his eyes. He was truly interested in this, and I loved watching him do what he loves.

"Interesting. I don't believe I've ever heard of that being made. What do you call these toys?" Mr. Fredricks said.

"Animatronics, sir," Will answered.

Mr. Fredricks turned to me. "What will you write about these...animatronics...Clara?" he asked. Good thing I was prepared now that Will had been completely interviewed about his intentions.

"I will obviously state how they work with the help of Will's explanations," I say. "But I will also write about their purpose of entertaining children. How they will be used if we win this inventions project." Mr. Fredricks smiled.

"You picked up on the prize," he grinned.

I nodded. "You made it quite obvious," I said, attempting to sound bored. Will nodded, although, all knew Will actually didn't have a clue. Mr. Fredricks stopped pacing and cleared his throat.

"Very well," he said. "You are dismissed. See you two tomorrow."

Will and I got up in sync, making sure we left the classroom before speaking. He nudged me softly, turning my attention to him. (Not that I needed a nudge to pay attention to him)

"You went all nerd on me in there," he joked. "Pretty cool."

"Hey, you went all nerd with your robot toys. Can't pin it all on me, now can you?" I fired back, earning a grin from Will.

"Whatever, Clar-uh," Will mocked Mr. Fredricks. "God his accent is annoying."

"And here I thought it was just me who heard it, Will-yum-ah," I said sarcastically. "Seriously, before you try mocking someone's accent, learn how to actually talk in that accent."

"What are you, british?" he asked.

"Actually, yeah. My grandparents on Mom's side were born and raised in England before they moved here at the age of 35, when my mom was 5," I answered. "Therefore I actually know how to sound British because I am constantly around British people."

"Yeah yeah okay," he rolled his eyes.

I elbowed him in the ribs.

"Is it too late to take you back to Henry's?" Will asked.

"Yes."
