Head over heels

Paige

I watched as she drove away.

I talked to her. I actually talked to Daisy.

The minute I saw her walk into one of my classes freshman year, I knew I was done for. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.

Well I mean, she still is.

I've been too much of a baby to ever talk to her.

I bet I looked like a creep during class. But I just couldn't stop looking at her. She's beautiful. She's kind, funny, smart.

And when she blushed? God, I was head over heels.

Her beautiful red hair, blue eyes, and the dozens of freckles on her face.

I couldn't take my eyes off her.

As I make my way into the schools gym I see Nika and Kk arguing about something I'm sure is stupid.

"What's got you smiling like a fool?" Kk asks.

"I talked to her." I smile.

They immediately know who I am talking about.

"You talked to Daisy! Omg what did you say! What happened!" They question.

I told them everything that happened. From bumping into her, helping calm her nerves, sitting next to her, and inviting her to our game later tonight.

"Omg Paige is all grown up!" Kk screams.

"Shut up." But I'm smiling like an idiot.

"Well you better play your best. You don't wanna embarrass yourself in front of her." Nika says nudging my shoulder.

I hope she comes.

Daisy

I sat in my car for about 15 minutes before I entered the bakery. Rethinking everything that has happened today.

Paige Bueckers invited me to her game. Me.

I mean no one needs an invitation to go, but she specifically invited me.

That has to mean something doesn't it?

I walk into the bakery and am immediately slapped in the face with the smell of sweets.

"Daisy! How are you dear." Aunt Meg says walking out from behind the counter.

"It was good, um I have a question though?"

"Well go on then."

"Um well you remember Paige right?.. the one I've mentioned." I ask.

"Honey, we're far past mentioned. You speak about her maybe everyday. But yes, I remember Paige."

"Well.. she invited me to go to her basketball game today, and I was wondering if I could get the evening off, if possible." I say, looking down at my hands.

"Sweetie, of course you can. I can't remember the last time you ever took time off. You deserve it. And besides, I've waited long enough to see you and Paige together." She laughs.

"We're not together! She just, invited me." I blush.

Aunt Meg walks over laughing and gives me a hug.

"Well, you've gotta help me before you leave then. Daniel's sick and I need someone up front for a while."

"Alright."
