Paige
Lunch was amazing. She's amazing. It's like the sight of her smiling, or even just laughing could make any day better.
The hours just flew by. I hadn't even noticed that she needed to be at the bakery in an hour.
"Thank you for lunch Paige, I still think I should've paid" she said. She had argued with me for 10 minutes about who would be paying before she gave in and let me.
"Hm, next time then yeah?" Oh, she won't be paying next time.
The car ride was filled with comfortable silence with Taylor Swift playing softly in the background.
My right hand is resting on my thigh, when suddenly a soft, delicate hand gently grabs my hand and she moves it over to her lap. She examines the rings on my fingers and twists them around.
"I've always liked rings..they're so pretty" she says quietly.
"Mhm.. why don't you have any then?"
"My dad doesn't like them..says they get in the way of doing real work"
"Well that's stupid.. if you like them you should get one."
"Maybe.."
She continues to twist the rings, then moves on to tracing the bones and veins in my hands. She slowly trails her soft fingers along them, and goosebumps cover my arms.
"Your hands are very big.. that's no fair" she says
I chuckle "is that a bad thing?" I ask
"No of course not, I like them. Wait that's weird. Well not that I don't like them! Omg.." she blushes, Turing and looking out the window, but not taking her fingers away from my hand.
"So you like my hands hm..?" I tease
"Shut up" she says, looking back down at my hand and continuing to trace every detail.
Too soon I'm pulling up to Chips bakery, not wanting to leave, I look over to Daisy who seems to be lost in thought. "Daisy?"
"Oh, we're here" she says, almost sounding sad.
"I had fun today Paige, and.. thank you for everything." Daisy looks up and she has a soft smile on her face.
"Of course, anytime."
"So.. I'll see you soon?" She asks, a hopeful look in her eyes.
"Definitely. Text me later when you get home okay?"
"Okay" she says quietly.
I expect her to get out of the car in that moment but then she suddenly says "close your eyes for a second, please"
I give her a questioning look, but do as she says.
I start to wonder what is happening after a few seconds but that's when I feel a pair of soft lips ever so slightly touch my cheek. I quickly open my eyes to see Daisy pulling away with a tiny of blush on her cheeks.
