----

Me and Toki finished studying at around five in the afternoon and decided to head back to the station.

"Bye, Toki. See you tomorrow!" I waved while walking into the train.

"Bye." He waved back a bit.

After half an hour I got to my station and walked home. Dad should be home. I got my keys and opened the door. Shadow came running to me and I bent down to pet her.

"How are you, Shadow?" I asked, knowing she won't answer.

"Meow." Okay, maybe she will.

The house was quiet until I heard some voices going on in my dad's room. I walked over to it and saw dad and uncle Mic talking.

"I'm home. What did I miss?"

"Nothing."

"Oh! Mini Aizawa! How are you?"

"I'm fine, uncle. What about you?"

"Oh, you know. Same old, same old."

"Got it." I said holding out a thumbs up at him. "Well, I should go to my room. Bye"

"Bye!"

"Bye, kid."

I closed the door and walked over to my room to change. After changing, I fed Shadow and went back to my room.

Today was draining. I hate studying.

----

Today was the day that I would tell Zuku about my mom. It took me hours and hours of overthinking to figure out how I would word it. I also decided that I would tell him that I like him. I sent him the address this morning and it was at the beach close to our houses.

I walked over to the beach, my eyes scanning everywhere to find him. Finally I did find him. He was sitting on a blanket in the sand. I walked over to him and sat down next to him.

"Hm? Oh. He-hey Mai."

"Hey, Zuku."

"You're back to calling me Zuku? I like it when you use "Zuku" instead of my name."

"Ha, yeah, sorry. So, I guess I should just get right into the point."

"Before you say whatever you're going to say, hear me out first. It doesn't matter what you say because I will always be here for you. I will help you in any way that I can, because... Because you're my friend."

His words touched my soul, until the last word. Friend? Well, if that's what he thinks of me then maybe I should just not tell him I like him.

"Thanks, Zuku. That means so much coming from you." I took a deep breath, it was time.

"So it started back when I was ten. As you know, dad is not my biological dad. He adopted me when I was four. When I turned ten I was looking through some boxes dad had in his room when I found papers about my adoption. I already knew that I was adopted at that point so I thought there was no point in looking. But when I went to put it back a letter fell out of the folder it was in. It was addressed to me by a name I didn't know so I opened it... It was a letter from my mom. It basically said that she didn't care that she left me and she hopes that I will never find happiness." He put his hand over mine.
