----

When I woke up, I was in the same place from before. I sat up and saw a note on the table next to me. I reached out and grabbed it. It was from dad. It read,

Mai, class started again but I didn't want to wake you up. You've been through enough today. If you want, you can come back to class. If you don't want to, just stay in this room and I'll be back as soon as classes end.

~Dad

I put the note down and decided to head back to class. It was around the end of school. Stealing a water bottle from the fridge in the room, I opened the door and walked to my classroom.

When I got there, I could hear Bakugo yelling at someone, probably Zuku. I opened the door and saw that I was right.

"I won't have another half-assed fight like the festival. We'll be getting individual scores in the upcoming finals-- new rankings. So we'll all know exactly where we're standing! I'll show you how much better I am. And Todoroki? I'll kill you, too."

"Hey, now. What about me?" I asked but he ignored me and walked past me.

"Rude much."

"M!" Ochaco came running at me.

"Are you okay? You scared me the way you ran off!"

"Yeah, I'm okay. I just need to talk to dad about something."

"Then why didn't you come back after?"

"I missed class because of something important. But no worries, I'm okay."

"Good!"

"Actually, Iida, Toki, and Zuku? Can I talk to you guys?"

"Of course"

"Sure"

"Okay"

I walked outside into the hallway as they followed me.

"Is everything okay, Mai?"

"Yeah, everything's fine. I just needed to tell someone about the reason why I left during lunch."

"Yeah, I meant to ask you about that." Toki said.

"Well, when that one kid from class 1-B came up and started talking I didn't think much at first. But...then he said "Hero Killer"... All of a sudden I was having a panic attack. That's why I ran away."

"Mai..." I cut Toki off,

"I saw him, you three and....someone that's not important during my attack talking about how I should have died that day."

"We would never say that." They defend.

"I know. Due to past trauma, it's been hard to find friends. But now that I have all of you guys, I rarely think about that anymore. It's just that those two words triggered something in my mind. When I ran away I ran to a room. Luckily my dad was in that room so he calmed me down. I fell asleep there, that's why I missed class."
