(A/N: I will be referring to everyone in their superhero names since to me it makes sense that in a superhero meeting, they would do so as a sign of respect.)
Damian Prov.
Damian watched the main leaders of the Justice League sitting around the almost too cliché round table. Their successors lingered nearby, looking as bored as a cat watching a documentary on dog grooming, while the adults droned on painfully about potential threats and successful missions. Despite the charade of attentiveness, Damian knew what they were all truly waiting for. His Malak.
"The situation in the South might need a closer eye." Wonder Woman stated firmly, glaring down Green Lantern as though she could set him on fire through sheer willpower. "Look, I'm telling you, everything's fine down there. You don't need to helicopter the South like my mother hen. Will you just let it go?" Green Lantern half-begged, his hands raised in surrender.
"We'll keep an additional ear on the ground and an eye in the sky." Superman said, his tone making it clear the discussion was over. Damian suppressed a smirk, knowing his father was itching to address the night's final issue. "Now that you've finished squabbling like children, they're waiting." Bruce drawled, but Damian didn't miss the subtle tapping of his father's fingers against the table—his tell for unease.
"Oh, right, the magical team from Paris," Flash yawned, stretching with a bored look. The room's atmosphere immediately sharpened, the Bat-Family exchanging nervous glances. "Are they a threat?" Aquaman asked, leaning in with a grin that was almost too eager.
"No. They could be allies," Batman started, but a snicker cut through the air, immediately throwing the League into battle-ready stances. All except for the Bat-Boys, who just looked up slowly, as if they were expecting the sound with annoyed eyes. "We told you, Batsy. We're neutral. You fuck up, you clean up." Golden Pollen said, grinning mischievously from a floating cloud, standing beside the ever-glaring Shadow Savior. Everyone stared at the blonde with wide eyes, shuffling back as her companion brought the cloud down to floor level.
"I told you to wait." Batman grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You were taking forever, and the melodies said it was time." Sonic Beat chimed in, his sudden voice from behind them, made the entire room jump. "State your name and purpose!" Superman demanded, glaring at the three intruders.
"I thought that was already established when Batman said you wanted to talk to us." came the voice that always made Damian's heart skip a beat. Ladybug sat at the head of the table, arms folded, looking thoroughly unimpressed. Damian had to bite his cheek to suppress the smile threatening to break out at the sight of his beloved's expression.
"Must you do as you please?" Bruce asked, rubbing his temple in exhaustion as he took his seat once more, signaling for everyone to do the same. "As Pollen has stated on multiple occasions, 'Where would be the fun in that?'" His beloved asked with a smirk, tilting her chin slightly causing the three members of her team to fall into place beside her like a well-rehearsed act.
