Bucky pulled you down and started to push you onto your back when you first heard it. A twig snap. Next came the faint sound of a camera clicking and you pulled away from the kiss and pushed softly at Bucky's chest. You heard another camera click, and your wolf wanted to come out.
"What's wrong doll?" Bucky asked, looking around and hyper aware now. You sniffed at the air, and pointed in the direction the scent of cigarettes and beer was coming from.
"We aren't alone" you whispered.
"Fuck" Bucky got up and looked around. You heard more twigs snapping and Bucky tilted his head to the side and went into a sprint. You heard a few yelps before he came back with a busted up camera. He reached into the belly of the camera and pulled out the SIM card before snapping it with his vibranium fingers. "I guess this isn't as private of a spot as I thought" he grimaced as he sat down beside you again. He threw the camera towards the trash can and got it in on his first try.
"Was it the paparazzi?" you asked curiously.
"I don't know. He got away. I got his camera though" he smirked.
"You let him get away," you corrected.
"Shh, he doesn't need to know that. I didn't want to leave my best girl alone" he sat beside you and wrapped his arm around your shoulders. You reached for the two bottles of iced coffee and handed Bucky one, before opening yours and taking a sip. It had a mocha flavor and was perfect. You hummed happily and sighed.
"This isn't going to stay private long, is it?" you asked, already knowing the answer.
"No doll, it probably won't" he shook his head. "Does that bother you?" he asked.
"Not really. The only person I really talk to outside of work is Jennifer" you admitted.
"What about your folks?" he asked.
"It's a strained relationship at best. They didn't even look for me when I went missing" you frowned. "Jennifer tried to, but everyone just told her I went off to college and wanted to be left alone. I guess she knew me better than that. She doesn't know what happened, and she never really asked. She knew I screamed a lot at night. I think she's been waiting for me to come around on my own" you said softly. "Can I take a picture of the two of us? Maybe send her it so she knows I'm happy and safe?" you asked him.
"Sure, anything you want. As long as you send it to me too" he grinned.
"If this gets out and Hydra comes for me..." you trailed off as you moved to sit between his legs to get a better view of the two of you together.
"We will protect you, and no one is taking you from me" he vowed. "I'll burn all their buildings to the ground if they so much as try" he added as an oath.
"Don't you already do that?" you giggled.
"Not every time. Sometimes they don't want it known that we were there so we can target larger bases later" he admitted. You nodded and just gave him a soft kiss on the cheek before snuggling in between his legs. He wrapped his arms around you and put his head on your shoulder and you fixed your hair so it was to one side. You took a selfie and sent it to both Bucky and Jennifer before saving it as your background.
"So is this where we were headed on Saturday?" you asked curiously.
"No, I had somewhere on the compound land in mind. It's somewhere birdbrain, Stevie, Loki and I know about. We've been there a few times to get away after bad missions. We usually hike up to it, but there's a trail we can take with the four wheeler" he nuzzled into you and kissed the side of your neck. You took another picture and he chuckled against the skin of your neck. "You'd better send me that one too, doll" he gave you a nibble and you sent it to him automatically. Jennifer was texting you and demanding more information and you just told her you would fill her in later. She recognized Bucky as the guy from the bar, who turned out to be Bucky Barnes. Your phone wouldn't stop going off, so you put it to the side.
"Are you bringing Alpine over to keep Melody company?" you asked after a moment.
"Anything you want, I am yours to command," he chuckled.
"Please, so they aren't so lonely" you whispered. "And no peeking when I'm changing" you added quickly.
"Even the hero's get a small peek," he said quickly.
"Stalker" you said quickly.
"I'll own it" he chuckled. "If I didn't peek, I wouldn't have seen what you wear to bed, or that pink bra. Or known you were a beautiful white..." he started to continue but you turned and put your finger on his lips and he automatically kissed the finger.
"We might still have company," you reminded him. "I still smell the stale beer and cigarettes" you whispered.
"Buddy if I find you, I'll rip you a new asshole" Bucky called to the woods before getting up.
"Let's just leave him" you sighed, getting up as well.
"He'll sell the pictures to the newspaper" he frowned.
"You took his camera," you reminded him.
"He probably has a phone, doll" he shook his head. "Besides, this can be fun" he wiggled his eyebrows. You giggled and gave in.
"Go get 'em, Sarge" you took a sip of your coffee and sat back down to enjoy the moonrise. Bucky took off quickly and you could hear the snaps of twigs and movement in the trees and foliage. You wolf longed to join him in the game of hunt, but you knew that would be a bad idea. You finally wrote back to Jennifer and told her that you and Bucky were an item now. He was treating you very well. You told her this is the happiest you have ever been. She seemed to fully support you, and told you as much. You finally laid back and looked at the sky after putting your phone down.
Bucky came back after half an hour victoriously with a cell phone in his hand and he showed it to you. You giggled and started packing everything up, and he helped you. He pocketed the cell phone for later, he said he was going to hand it over to Tony to look at. He helped you with your helmet again and you both headed back to the compound.
