Laure Ri Daza's Point of View

Creed told me that he will call. It's been weeks but I haven't received anything from him. Ni-ha o ni-ho ay wala akong narinig mula sa kanya. He seems decided yet here I am still thinking about the stuff he told me last week. I can't imagine being with someone else let alone have a sexual relationship with them. Sino ba ang nagpauso ng open relationship na 'yan?

"I couldn't believe Creed. Is that his way to spice your relationship?" Cassidy suddenly said. Napahilamos ko na lang ang kamay ko sa aking mukha. Hindi pa rin talaga nagsisink-in sa akin ang mga nangyari. I'm not with my usual self the whole week. Kahit sa trabaho ay hindi ako maka focus. Tonight, I finally decided to meet my friends. Nagyaya naman si Cassidy ng dinner at treat niya na raw ito sa amin. That's why we're inside in a high-end restaurant. If this is a normal day, I would have enjoyed my food. Pero ngayon ay wala akong ganang kumain. Pinagmasdan ko lang ang pagkain sa harapan ko. Wala akong lakas para hawakan ang mga kubyertos.

"If he wanted to spice up our relationship, I should have given him a jalapeño. Baka gusto niyang ipagtanim ko pa siya ng sili." Sambit ko habang nakakunot ang noo.

"Open relationship!?" Napalakas ang boses ni Mirage kaya naman nagsitinginan ang kalapit naming table. I tried covering my face using my hand. Shit! Baka pati ang katabing table namin ay malaman ang problema ko.

"Oops. Sorry!" Mirage whispered while ducking her head from embarrassment. When she finally regained her cool, she focuses on me.

"I didn't expect that the time will come where I will call Creed a jerk. I mean he looked so innocent and seems like his world only revolves around you, Laure. Does his religion even allow an open relationship?"

"Anong plano mo Laure? Huwag mong sabihin sa amin na hahayaan mo lang ang kasintahan mo?" Cassidy suddenly asked. Napahawak na lang ako sa aking buhok at sinabutan ang aking sarili. This is making me frustrated. Creed is making me frustrated. I mean, I never been frustrated with Creed. Why now? Bakit ngayon pa na malapit na kaming ikasal?

"Tatawagan ko siya at sasabihin na hindi ako papayag." Kukunin ko na sana ang phone ko nang hawakan ni Mirage ang braso ko.

"Wait," pigil sa akin ni Mirage.

"What if you just let it, Laure? Bakit hindi mo subukan makipagkilala sa ibang tao? You've been with Creed since you were a child. It's not a secret. Kahit noong unang beses tayong nagkakilala sa kolehiyo ay siya pa rin ang kasama mo. Don't you think it's the perfect timing to let someone in your life?" She suggested while sipping her frappe from time to time.

"Mirage's suggestion is not so bad, Laure. But that doesn't mean that I agree with it. Creed seemed like he already has someone in his life. Hindi naman niya ito sasabihin kung wala pa. Why don't you give Creed the taste of his own medicine?"

"Anong ibig niyong sabihin?"

"Find a man." Walang patumpik-tumpik na sabi ni Cassidy. This is what I love about Cass. She's straight to the point.

"You made it sound so easy." I retorted.

As if someone will have interest on me. Sa tingin ko ay nakalimutan ko na rin kung paano makisalamuha sa ibang tao. Lalo na at sanay ako sa presensiya ni Creed.

"A man is the easiest person that a woman can get." Cass nonchalantly said.

"If you're looking for a temporary man, then it's easy. But looking for a permanent man is not that easy, Cassidy. You told us that we just have to look for a guy that is less of an asshole. Mahirap makahanap ng ganon." Sabi naman ni Mirage habang patuloy kumakain. Tinitingnan ko lang silang dalawa na naguusap.
