Chapter 32
Laure Ri Daza's Point of View
Thank goodness Hiro's fever went down already.
His grip has no strength in it. Maybe because he is still sick. When I looked down at his face, he was frowning hard.
"Don't go," a smile tugged on my lips. Who would've thought that Hiro is such a baby when sick?
Take a rest, will you?"
"No, just stay kotik," wala na akong nagawa kundi umupo ulit sa kanyang tabi.
"Hmm, okay," I said. Hiro looked seemingly appeased.
"I didn't mean to scare you earlier Laure."
Hiro must be talking about our conversation in his kitchen earlier. When he told me that this relationship will get real, my heart raced inside my chest like crazy.
"Don't worry, Hiro. And please don't push yourself to speak."
He tilts his head and looks at me with his warm eyes.
"But it's nice having your here with me in my not-so-proud moments. I shrug like me being here is nothing.
"I really appreciate it. And the porridge tasted good. The chocolate cake too." I watched Hiro's eyes flash with shyness. So he's capable of being shy. He actually looks kind of cute.
"And I'm sorry you have to do all that, Laure." Napakunot ang noo ko gawa ni Hiro. He sounded like he was ashamed that I saw him in this state.
"I'm supposed to be the one taking care of you and not the other way around." A smile tugged on my lips and shook my head.
"I swear, it's okay. You didn't even have the energy to stand up on your own feet. Let me take care of you, too." I pressed on.
"Just rest, Hiro," I mumbled but Hiro's gaze was still on me.
"Then if I take a rest and wake up later, will you still be here by my side?" Hiro's lips pouted lightly. I tried to open my mouth and then closed it again.
Hiro sounded like he didn't want me to leave. Somehow, my stomach flops for some reason. His stares made me giddy and... wanted. He wants me here, by his side. And I like it. I like the idea of someone wanting me to be on their side.
"Yes. After I said those words, Hiro gave me a sincere smile. Satisfied with my answer, he closed his eyes and sleep.
I had no recollection that I slept in his bed but I woke up lying comfortably in it.
Where is he? He's supposed to the one sleeping here! Not me. That's where I find Hiro. All along I thought he will be bedridden.
