Laure Ri Daza's Point of View

"You can't be this careless," he hissed, gripping the steering wheel tightly.

For the record, I thought Hiro will raiase his voice at me. I mean, I just saw how his jaw tightened when he grab my wrist and pull me out of the restaurant. Naiwan ko tuloy ang dalawang kaibigan kong nagtataka. Ngayon naman ay mahina ang boses nito. Tama lang para mapakinggan.

"Clevon is confused as fuck seeing you there, Laure." He sighs. He even pinched the bridge of his nose.

"We need to make sure that our relationship will look good in the public eye. I know I'm asking too much from you, Laure. But you can't just casually meet other people like that." Napasimangot na sabi nito. Napahawak na lang ako sa aking noo at napailing. Oh boy, he got it all wrong.

"Mirage asked me a favor, Hiro. That's why I'm there. Hindi naman dahil gusto ko talagang umattend sa blind date na iyon. I am there for my friend." I started explaining him the situation. Pero napansin ko na habang kinwekwento ko ang nangyari ay lalo lang kumukunot ang noo niya.

"You should have said no if you're uncomfortable."

"It doesn't work that way. She might not like me if I didn't come." Tinaasan ako ni Hiro ng kilay dahil sa naging sagot ko.

"Ano naman kung hindi ka niya magustuhan Laure? So you will do whatever she asks you even if you're uncomfortable doing it? What kind of friendship is that?"

"You don't understand, Hiro."

"Then tell me. Make me understand."

"I only have few people around me. Ayaw kong mabawasan pa." Napapikit na sabi ko. Dahil simula sa una ay si Creed na ang kasama ko at wala ng iba. I am really glad that I'm friends with Mirage and Cassidy. Because some people don't want to be friends with me since I'm always with Creed all the freaking time.

"Nandito naman ako, Laure. It's okay if people won't like you. I will always like you." Muntik na akong maniwala dahil sa sinabi ni Hiro. Lalo na at napaka seryoso ng mukha nito habang naka tingin sa akin. Pero napangiti na lang ako ng pagak.

"But you're leaving. You're not permanent." I didn't mean to offend him, but those words just rolled off my mouth. Hiro suddenly looked taken aback— like he took a big blow from his stomach. Nawala ang pagkahawak niya sa steering wheel.

"You're right." He agreed. And I don't know why I felt disappointed. Alam ko naman na aalis ito. Lagi niya itong inuulit sa akin. There was a lump in my throat, and I couldn't breathe properly.

"Fine. I know you can do whatever you want, Laure. This is your personal life but I want you to careful, okay? Ayaw kong may tumawag na naman sa akin na pinsan ko at sabihin nakita kang may ka blind date na iba." I frown. When did he learn to be so sarcastic?

"Hiro! I'm not going to do that again." This time, it's my turn to hiss. Tinapunan lang niya ako ng mabilis na tingin bago magsalita ulit.

"Good. Because I don't know what to do anymore if I saw you again hanging out with some random men out there." I didn't know what he meant by that. I only pressed my lips together and looked outside the window when he started maneuvering the car.

Hindi ko alam kung saan kami pupunta na dalawa. Nagpatuloy lang mag drive si Hiro kung saan. Makalipas ang isang oras ay tumigil ang kotse sa may kadiliman na parking lot.

"Nasan tayo?" Tanong ko kay Hiro nang makalabas na kaming dalawa sa kanyang kotse. He held my hand and quietly told me to just follow him. Nakatingin lang ako sa kanyang likuran habang naglalakad. That's where I noticed that even his back looked gorgeous. He's really got a broad shoulders and his back seems so strong.
