Nora's POV

We got announced about the Yule Ball by Professor McGonagall today. And all the girls around us couldn't act more girlish. We understand you're excited, no need to get all squeaky.

My dorm room was quiet while I was peacefully reading my book, until two teens, who were acting like 7-year-olds fighting for chocolate, walked into my room. I closed the copy of Twisted lies and looked at my boyfriend and best friend bickering.

"You don't get to disrespect me like that!" Draco yelled at Ainsley, and she replied with, "I'll do whatever the fuck I want"

"Now, if both of you are just gonna stand there and fight, get out, so that I can read in peace" I commented.

"I came to get you to Dinner" Draco answered and sat down on my bed. "I wanted my book back, I want to complete my assignment before dinner" Ainsley informed.

I pulled my blanket off me and walked to my bag to get the book. "Ykw I'll finish it later. But give me the book, I don't wanna come back all the way from my room after dinner,"

I handed her the book and she walked out after throwing another insult at Draco.

Draco chose to stay quite with just sneered, which melted into a smile when he turned back to me. "Shall we?"

I nodded and put my book next to the third book of the series on my shelf. This is one of the very few things I'm organized about.

We walked out of the room to the dinner. "How is it going with your sister? Has she talked to you yet?" Draco asked as he looked down at me.

I was of a reasonable height for my age but when I stand next to Draco, I feel shorter.

"No," I replied to what he asked. "She still seems to be mad. But I'm sure she'd not tell my parents about us"

He hummed and walked in silence for a while. "Wait. What happened to the guy who had a crush on you?" his voice was edged with what I assumed to be possessiveness.

"Well," I chuckled. "He moved on. Bro literally said, 'If you don't get a Nora, try to get a Sara,'"

"What? I thought Sara had a boyfriend. No?"

"That's-. Okay listen, Sara was in a relationship with Charles. And Charles didn't want her talking to Austin, who is her 'friend'"- I used my hands to quote in the air-" And she is also close with Terry. Her boyfriend therefore broke up with her, which Sara herself was informed by Ainsley" I took a breath in before I continued.

"And she's now seeing Jacob. The guy who had a crush on me. He moved on after my rejection." I completed.

I turned to look at the guy walking next to me. He seemed dumbfounded; his expression told me that he was trying to process everything I just told.

Poor thing. Not used to gossips.

"Wait, when did you reject him?"

"On Instagram. He didn't confess or anything but was sharing reels with love songs and shit. I just told him off. Why get his hopes high when I'm not interested?"

I chuckled at his expression and walked into the great hall.

"Whoa. What's up with him?" Theo, who was sitting across from me, asked looking at Draco's face. "I just narrated him Sara's love life. Clearly, he processes gossip less efficiently than he does the lessons."

Theo and I made up the next morning after our bickering. He apologized for 'being an ass'. And it's going alright.

Ainsley interrupted our conversation when she exclaimed. "What?!"

"Dude chill. What's up?" I asked, intrigued. "Iris here, has went on a date with Cedric freakin' Diggory, yesterday and she's also been asked to go on a second one this weekend"

"What?!" my voice was the loud one this time that it grabbed the attention of the Gryffindors next table.

"Wdym a Date?"

"It's not a Date. I'd have told you guys if it were a date. I was strolling the Hogsmeade streets yesterday and ran into him. He offered to take me to get a drink, I tried to pass but I couldn't"

"What about the second date?"

"He said he'd be busy with some arrangements with some prefect things for the Tri-wizard tournament. And he apologized a lot for it," Iris sighed before continuing, "He asked me to meet him at the three broomsticks on the first Sunday of November,"

My gaze turned to the brunette guy sitting across me. If the fork he held had life, it must be on its way to the afterlife by now by the pressure of his grip.

He put his fork down and stood up. "Where are you going?" Draco asked, his voice and face held the same amount of concern.

"Tired. Have an early morning tomorrow," he muttered and walked away.

I looked at Draco, as if on cue he gave my left hand an assuring squeeze and said, "I'll go check on him" He stood up and walked after his friend.

I looked back at my friends. By the way they continued the conversation I assumed they didn't notice what happened.

I sighed and looked at Iris. Unlike the others, she seemed to have noticed what happened. She shot a concerned look at the great hall's doors, through which the guys walked out.

She averted her gaze back to the food on her plate, with a frown grazing her lips.

Draco's POV

I stood before Theo's door and knocked on it twice. "Fuck off," I heard him grumble. "I don't plan to," I informed and opened the door.

He was lying down on his bed looking up at the ceiling. "Hey man," I walked to his desk chair, sitting on it after pulling it out of the desk.

He stayed silent before saying, "Yk, I actually like her. Not just a small crush. When I look at her all the worries that I try to mask with my carefree demeanour just vanishes into nothing"

I patiently listened to him until he let it all out. "I should've acted on it before, I shouldn't have-" he interrupted himself with a small sigh.

"I don't know what to do bro"

"You have the Yule Ball. It's just a second date. You ask her to the Yule Ball before Diggory," I suggested. "Take Nora, Ainsley and Carla's help to make it more special"

"I can do that" he nodded to himself, as if to reassure himself. "Now. Stop sitting here like an emo kid and go prepare for it"

"Bro. It's late" he excused looking at the clock on his table.

"That's alright go,"

"I have more time to plan, this few hours is not going to ruin anything"

"Well their second date is gonna happen soon and you have to ask her before he does," I shrugged and spoke, "If you want that to happen fine"

"Fine. I'll talk to them tomorrow,"

"Good"

He nodded and smiled, "Thanks man"

"Anytime" I returned the smile.

After a while, I left to find Nora. "Hey" Nora walked up to me just when I left the room.

"Hey,"

"Is he okay?" she asked, concerned. "Yep. Can you help him with something?"

"Sure. What is it?" She asked. "I asked him to ask Iris to the ball before Diggory does, he'd need you guys' help for that,"

"Okay,"
