Chapter 8

With the help of Kain, we deal with the Level E's. Though I didn't want to admit it, I was exhausted, and the wound wasn't any help. A lot of blood was lost due to the continuous movements. Zero and Blondie come shortly after we're finished. "Yona! I came as soon as I could, Are you alright?" Zero asks seeing the blood on my neck and flinching. "What this? Psh, it's no-nothin..." I say starting to lose my balance,and start to fall, before I can get too far, someone catches me. The person's grip was hot. "Hands off leech!" I say aware that the scent of blood was strong in the air. Blondie's eyes were glowing Red, which meant Kain's was too. There was a faint hint of what looked like Purple/Red in Zero's, but he quickly looks away. Kain lets me go. "Hanabusa, let's go. We've done what was asked." Kain says. I start to walk towards Zero, but a hand on my shoulder stops me, the familiar warmth telling me who. "Yona, go with them, I have another Mark to do." Zero says before turning and walking away. "Like hell I'm going with the vamps!" I say before pulling away and running up to him. "You'll be safer with them." he says. "Did you fall on your head or something? You were the one that lectured me about staying in the company of vampires while injured the first night I got here!" I say crossing my arms over my chest when he stops and slightly turns towards me. "I'm staying with you Zero, like it or not." I say. "No offense vamps." I call over my shoulder. "Some taken." Kain calls back. I roll my eyes. "Come on, lets go Kiryu." I say walking past him. He sighs annoyed. "Why are you leading when you don't even know where I'm going? Outta the way idiot." he says and takes the lead.

Akatsuki's P.O.V.

"Well, she's an idiot if she thinks she's safer with him." Hanabusa says. I smirk and shake my head. "Can't be helped, she'll figure it out sooner or later." I say waving it off, though in reality, I was almost tempted to grab her and drag her back with us instead. I sigh and walk past him. "Aren't you cool, acting like you're not fuming inside." Hanabusa teases. "What? Do you even know what you're talking about Hanabusa?" I ask. "From what I've seen, you can't seem to take your eyes off that girl. Or when you do, and she's in trouble, you come running. Just like today, I was the one who fell through the floor, not you, yet you let her believe you did, so that you had an excuse for showing up. I wonder why..." he says pretending to think it over. I guess he's smarter than he acts. I sigh. "Whatever." I say, stuff my hands into my pockets, and continue to walk. I hear a slight chuckle from him in return.

Yona's P.O.V.

When we made it back to the academy, he quickly brings me to the infirmary, before ditching me. Jerk. I sigh and sit on one of the wheeled beds. The nurse is about to look at my neck, just as Yaguri throws open the door, stomps over to me, angles my neck slightly but gently, and examines the wound. "What the hell happened?!" he asks. "Dog bit me." I say, knowing that the nurse was still there. "Dog..?" he asks confused. I motion with my eyes towards the nurse. He seems to get it after that. "Is the dog taken care of?" he asks. "Yes." I say simply. He sighs in relief. "Good, get patched up. We'll talk later." he says and leaves the room. Once I'm patched up, I leave the infirmary, to go to my room. Sure enough, Yaguri is waiting there. "How many were there?" he asks. "A lot more than they thought." I say. "Where's Zero?" he asks. "He ditched me in the infirmary and left to go somewhere, but I don't know where." I say. "Was he hurt?" he asks. "No." I say. "What else is there, that you're not telling me?" he asks suddenly. I stay silent. "Yona." he says. I sigh and roll my eyes. "I was disarmed a few more times than I care for. I'll need to train more." I say. "That all?" he asks. "Yes." I say. "Very well, we'll continue your training tomorrow." he says after narrowing his eyes slightly. "Understood." I say. "Get some rest." he says. I nod and walk into my room. "Good night Yaguri." I say. "Goodnight." he says and walks away. I close my door and sigh in relief. That was close. If he found out the Vamps showed up, I don't know what he would've done. I walk over to my bed, place my weapon holder onto the ground, and fall onto my bed.
