-💔-Sipping on his fizzy lemonade was the best solution for the heat of the summer. Taehyung loved the taste of it and it just enhanced his taste buds. Turning to face his friends who were still trying to digest the information he just gave them.
“You are telling me…You got a proposal from Jeons. They want you to marry their only son, heir to their throne, rich, handsome, so talented and smart and one of the best guys ever. This date happened four days ago and you are telling us now.” Jin asked him, he was confused as to why did his best friend say no.
“Since when have you and Jeongguk been friends? He isn't as good as you make him sound.” Taehyung replied to him. Going for another bite of his croissant pesto sandwich. He went to work without breakfast so he is quite hungry now that it's lunch time.
“Who is Jin hyung not friends with, Taehyung? He knows and befriends everyone.”
“Yeah, be honored I am just close with you both. You guys are my ride or dies. If I kill someone I am calling you both.” He shrugged and gave them a grin.
“Please don't call us. I won't pick up. Back to Taehyung, I have to agree with Jin hyung here. Besides his few scandals of being a bit of a playboy, He is the golden boy of Hannam Dong. You probably judged him based on the first impression.” Hoseok said, making him remember that stupid fight.
“Why can't you guys just accept that I didn't like him?” Taehyung questioned them. Jin and Hoseok both shared a look and chuckled.
“You are not fooling anyone, tae. That guy is exactly your type. Good body, tattoos, piercings, you have always liked them with a little hint of rebellion. So don't tell me you weren't at least a little attracted to him.” Jin said to him and Taehyung looked at both of them and then down on his sandwich. Not saying anything.
That was enough to prove their point for the two guys. “Tell me, did he apologize to you on the date?”
“...Yes.”
“See, he is of good nature. Just a bad day at the party. I don't think he would be a bad husband, you should really consider it.” Hoseok put his two cents in and Taehyung wasn't convinced.
“I dont like how much in favour you guys are in for him. We dont know if he can be a good husband because none of you know him that well. It won't work, okay? Our personalities are very different. He doesn't like me, I don't like him. We are at a neutral stage right now and we both agreed to keep it that way. I don't want to go ahead with it. I am talking about my entire life here. I still have to tell my dad about how the date went.” Taehyung states his final decision. His friends decided to not push it more.
“If you say so. I would just say don't completely shut the door on this. Like you said we, including you, dont know him enough like that. Maybe that's what you need to do if this is the only option. Besides it's your life, Taehyung-ah. This arrange marriage concept is old anyway. You do what you want."
“I agree.” Hoseok agreed with him. Taehyung rolled his eyes and wiped his face with his napkin. Taking one last sip of his drink and he was done.
“You guys talk a lot and work less. Lunch is over. I am going to head back to work. Do you think Sehoon hyung is back too?” Taehyung asked Hoseok and Hoseok smiled at him.
“Your work-husband usually has his lunch at his office so I doubt he left. Why?”
“No reason. See you both later, I will leave now.”
When he heard loud laughs from the CEO's office, he knew Sehoon probably had some people over. Business partners ? perhaps. He isn't quite sure. He thought twice before considering going inside. Taehyung doesn't want to interrupt him, he doesn't have much work with him, it was Sehoon who called to meet him after lunch.
