“You need to come home.” Taehyung says from the other side of the phone to Jeongguk who was confused.
Sitting in his office with a coffee in his hands, he takes another sip as his head is already hurting from the amount of work he had to do today. It's 6pm, most of the employees who usually work 9 to 5 are already gone. There are only a few employees in the entire building beside him who are probably working overtime or getting ready for one last meeting of the day.
“Taehyung, you can't just demand me to come home because you are bored. I thought going back to work would keep you busy?” Jeongguk says to his husband. After the excruciating two weeks of seeing Taehyung day and night, all the time, the man finally went back to work.
Finally when he woke up in the morning, Taehyung wouldn't be there, sometimes they would leave together but most of the time, he would be gone first, though he would be home earlier than Jeongguk when he had a not so busy day. The other days being when he attends social gatherings to collect connections for the company or meet with the clients. All Jeongguk would get is a text that he won't be coming home before midnight.
Those days Jeongguk would be able to breathe in the apartment. He would sit and just unwind, be able to live his life with freedom. Those days would be the most peaceful for him. He and Taehyung have gotten in somewhat fine terms with each other but it is hard to just not argue with him almost every time they talk. It gets tiring after one or two times but this was a daily routine. They would be arguing over the silliest things like leaving dishes in the room or not picking up packages in the morning.
So him going back to work has been a blessing as they talk less so the arguing has gone minimal too.
“I will demand you to come home because we have an event to attend together. It's a public event hosted by my family to celebrate our marriage. We are obviously the main guests so you need to come home now!!” Taehyung says loudly through the phone.
“Taehyung, why are you telling me this just today? don't you think this is something you should have me be aware of beforehand, I have a meeting to attend to and I am not missing it for you.” Jeongguk responds to him and He could visibly imagine Taehyung just rolling his eyes.
“You are missing it. This is important okay, I thought your father would tell you since he is back from his business trips. Your entire family is invited too. Are you not close with them? did they not tell you?” Taehyung speaks and when he is met with silence he gets his response.
“Take a wild fucking guess,Kim. You are so irresponsible. it's not their job to tell me because it's an event hosted by your family so by default, you, my husband, should be the one telling me about it.” Jeongguk scolds him.
“Jeongguk, it's not that big of a deal. Just come home so we can leave. Leaving one meeting won't kill you. When is it anyway?”
“In an hour.”
“You are not serious, we need to be at the event hall by an hour, you are the boss can't you just hold the meeting now?” Taehyung asks him and Jeongguk thinks about it.
“It depends on our shareholders, if they are still here or not. Let me see what I can do. If they are already here I'll be home in half an hour so be ready so we can leave immediately. If they are not there then you handle it with your family. Bye.” Jeongguk hangs up the phone without waiting for a response from the other man. He has nothing more to hear from him as this is his final decision.
This is one of the main reasons they argue. their communication with each other is so limited as if there is a word limit that they are afraid to cross over. Taehyung tells him about major events like this last minute, this is just one of many times where Taehyung's priority wasn't him. They don't owe each other anything but telling each other things will just help this arrange marriage work. That is something neither of these two can understand.
