"Do you have the tickets?" Jennie asked for third time while they were waiting in the line at the check-in desk at the airport.

Lisa smiled at her: "Sure, calm down."

"I'm just so excited."

"Who would've guessed," she grinned.

"Oh you," Jennie punched her arm playfully. "I've never been to New York before, and I want to see the snow. Your mother said there was snow?"

"Yes," Lisa chuckled and looked at Janice who was standing behind them to wish them a good journey. She'd driven them to the airport and Steven had come with them. He held his mother's hand tightly and watched everything with huge eyes. The airport was crowded with all the people who wanted to spend their holidays away from home.

The young woman at the check-in desk smiled at the young couple before her: "Can I have your tickets please," she asked and gestured Lisa to put the suitcases on the band beside her. "Two parts?," she asked again and she nodded. "Miss Lisa Manoban and Miss Jennie Kim, right?" she nodded again. Jennie smiled at her nervously playing with a button on her coat. "Alright Miss Manoban, you have 5A and B, here are your boarding-cards," she handed them to her together with the tickets. "Please go to exit C 30. The plane will board in 15 minutes."

"Thank you," Lisa said and took Jennie's hand to pull her away so the next people could be served.

"Mom, do you want to come with us or should we say good-bye now," Jennie asked and looked at her mother.

"I think we'll say good-bye now." She reached out with her free hand and pulled her daughter close: "Have a wonderful time. And call."

"I will," her daughter assured her. Then she pulled back and bowed down to look at her brother: "See you soon Stevie."

"I'll miss you," he said with watery eyes. "You promise to come back soon."

"Of course," Jennie smiled at him. "Come on, don't cry, you're a big boy."

"I don't cry," he replied quickly while he was angrily wiping his eyes.

Jennie looked at her mother again: "See you in a few days."

Janice nodded: "Lisa, have a happy Christmas and take good care of her."

Lisa smiled: "Of course," and then grinned when she saw Jennie roll her eyes. With a last wave both turned and walked towards the boarding-gate.

"I wonder what she'll look like," Sheila Manoban said while looking at the knitting in her lap. She wanted to get it ready for Christmas. It was a little pullover for her soon-to-be expected grand-child.

"Who?," her husband looked up from her newspaper she'd been reading.

She sighed: "Daniel, you're not listening. I'm talking about the girl Lisa's bringing with her for Christmas."

He removed his reading-glasses from his nose and studied her face for a moment, then he put them on again and looked back at his reading: "We'll see soon enough."

"Oh god," she threw her hands in the air and the knitting fell to the floor. "You're such a man."

"Thank you, darling," he teased her.

"That wasn't a compliment," she grumbled. "Daniel, she's bringing a girl home. She's never done that before. She comes all the way from LA with her, that means it's serious."

The word 'serious' caught his attention and he looked up again: "You think she's thinking about marrying her?"

"I don't know, but it's possible. And we don't know anything about her. She only said, 'by the way mom, we're coming together. I'm bringing my girlfriend; her name is Jennie.' And Georgie isn't very communicative either. I mean she spent almost three weeks with her recently and I bet it had to do with the girl, remember when she came to see us. She was so depressed."
