To be completely honest, I had mostly blacked out the next ten-fifteen- however many minutes. I was even more anxious being in the actual room, and everything seemed so bright, so I really didnt know what was going on. Next thing I know, this doctor guy brought in a box, and opened it up. And there they were. My hearing aids. Just like I requested, they were matte black with an orange X symbol in the center. They were perfect.

I grinned, but let me remind you, I was still anxious, but now that excitement started to bleed back in.

Soon, there were two foriegn objects in my ears, and my mom signed that they were going to turn them on now and tune them. She counted down on her fingers, and once it was zero.... I covered my ears (to no avail) in shock.

"OW, WHAT THE FUCK?"

My head was suddenly filled with loud static, and I closed my eyes tight, until the static quieted down. I peaked my eyes open.

"Sorry about that hun, just give him a second and we'll find the right spot soon."

(Insert meme here with the rocks eyebrow raised cuz that sounds sus af but i didnt know how else to write it XD)

I blinked in shock. I could see her signing, and the static was still there, but....

"Oh my god." I said simply. "I can hear you."

I felt a tear form in my eye. Dammit, I was NOT going to cry. I took a deep breath, and saw my mothers smile beam. "Perfect!" The doctor said. "Im goimg to further adjust it, you should be hearing some static right now, just let me go if this helps let the sound clear up or make it worse."

At this point, my mom was crying. (I had, by pure will, forced my tears back.) She was still signing what the doctor was saying, but I turned my attention to him, now being able to hear him, and we worked on adjusting my hearing aids.

(Good god, Im gonna cry myself lol.)

After what felt like forever, we got it to as good as it was going to get, and the doctor told me how it may not be perfect, you would need someone with a specialized quirk for that, but that could cost millions- of course you could find someone with a quirk to heal my hearing completely, (but due to quirk useage I would just have to continuously see them) and that would cost even more. But anyway, he warned me I may need hearing breaks, showed me how to change the batteries, not to wear them at night, how to charge the batteries, all the stuff.

We then headed into the car, and I felt myself smile with a stupid grin on my face. My mom still signed as she talked, (even tho doing such changed the sign language so it isnt actually asl anymore, more of a modified version, just fyi, since asl has its own grammer system.) But it was nice to hear her voice again.

As we drove home, she continued to talk as we went, about pretty much anything. And I continued to grin stupidly. Once we arrived home, she checked her phone and sighed. "Damn, it seems Inko has caught a cold. We are going to have to postpone our meeting." I nodded, "Alright, fine. Tell her to feel better soon, Ill just go talk to deku when I get back." I paused. "Actually, could I head back now?"

I watched her expression carefully, hoping she wouldnt be upset, but instead she just sighed quietly and smiled. "Alright, fine. I suppose Ill see you when we meet up with Inko then. Im sure you have people at school you want to show, Ill let you go."

I grinned excitedly, and gave her a hug. "Thanks, mom. Ill see you later then!" I said, and grabbed my bag and hopped out of the car. I waved behind me and saw her roll her eyes, then I took off to the train station.

Afterall, there was one person I wanted to not just show, but hear more than anything..
