Ugh. Everything hurts. No, I'm not dying. Well I am- I'm dying of hunger from swim practice. Coach Phelps was extremely hard on us today. Jeez that dude seriously needs to get laid or something. What! I mean he's my favorite coach but lately he's been kinda grumpy. But who isn't? It's New York. At least school is almost over.
As I turn the corner, I sense something is wrong. Very wrong. Well, everything's been feeling wrong since my father went missing 6 months ago. But today it feels too off. As I approach my apartment, I see a glint of metal and something pink. Right in the window of my little brother's roommate . I wait. Then, I hear a laser shooting and then a scream.
"Oh no, Kai!" I scream, as I take off bolting toward my home, my tanto knife in hand.

I kick down the door, muscles burning. Good thing swim practice got me warmed up. When I step inside my apartment, I stand horrified. The coach is tossed upside down, the television is left playing Star Trek.
I'm snapped out of my thoughts as I hear a scream. My mother. "Mom!!! No!!" another voice yells. Kai. The noises come from upstairs. Before I dash up, I stop and calm down. Enough to go into stealth mode. It's better the attackers don't know I'm here.
I slowly creep my way up the stairs, careful to avoid the creaks in the floor. When I make it up, I dash behind a door. I approach the master bedroom, where my mom and my deceased father used to live. My heart pangs at the thought. Though I never really was attached to my father like a normal daughter would be, I nonetheless loved him.
But I can't think about him now. If I couldn't save him, at least I can try to save the rest of my family. I'm not even the slightest trained in martial arts, but I can throw vet mean punches and kicks. And I have my tanto blade, passed on from my father. If I need to, I will kill.
I look into the bedroom and my heart stops. Alien Robots? What the chalupa!
