6|| A Giant Rat With A Giant Heart

The room gives off a Japanese aura, one strong enough to make you to just stop and smell the Japanese Cherry Blossoms, which linger around the room, like the smell of a fresh bath.

I like it already.

"H-hello?" I ask, tip toeing.

"I would have of let you in, but it looks like you have already aquatinted yourself here." A voice spoke.

I jumped and turned around, only to look up to a giant rat?
Well, a giant, tall rat-in a kimono.

Huh.

"My apologies sir, Leonardo didn't quite tell me where to go." I say, bowing respectfully.

"That is alright, my child. My name is Hamato Yoshi, but after in my fighting years, I am known as Splinter." He says putting out a hand. I shake it nervously.

"Lotus Kimaro. Um, Leonardo said you wished to talk with me."

"Yes, but come sit. We shall discuss my concerns over some green tea." He says, sitting Indian style in front of a small wooden table thing. I sit cross cross opposite of him.

He both take a drink of the warm tea slowly, together.

"My sons said they saved you from the Foot."

"Foot?" I didn't know what the foot where but I felt like I heard it before.

"You do not know them?"

"No. Actually, I don't know about anything. There are mutant turtles living in the sewer! My family is dead! I don't really know!" I yell.

"S-sorry Master Splinter, it's just been a lot."

"That is alright, Lotus-san. Let me tell you a story."

I nod and lean in.

"Once, I was human. I lived in Japan. In a battle against our rival, the Foot, my father found the son of the enemy. He was merely a child so my father took him in as a son. Me and Oroko Saki were best friends, and naturally had a friendly rivalry about everything. But soon came a girl, Tang Shen. Me and Saki fought for her heart. When she chose me, he became furious. He swore vengeance, left the Hamato Clan, and remade the Foot a clan under his hand. One night, he came and in attempt to kill me, put a fire on in the house. I lost my beloved Tang Shen and daughter. Until previously, I had discovered that he had found my daughter and raised her to think that I was the one who killed her mother. But sadly, she was mutated into a snake." He said sadly.

"I am very, very sad for your loss. But one question, what does shredder want with me? And what about those robot things?"

"Ah, unfortunately I do not know why he is searching for you, but I know a little about the Kraang. You can ask Donatello and the others if you wish to know more."

"After losing my wife and daughter, I left Japan and came here to New York for a new beginning. I went to the pet store and brought 4 pet turtles. When I was walking home, I bumped into a strange man. He felt off, so I decided to follow him into an alley. There was an exact replica of him. They fought me, when a rat brushed past me and made a noise. In the fight, the turtles were dropped and this weird substance- which we now know is mutagen- fell on the turtles and me, mutating us. And that is how we are here today."

"Wow."

He chuckled. "Yes, it is a lot. Now I must ask you, Miss Lotus, what about you?"

"About me?"

"Your background, of course not your deepest secrets but how you could've of came here."

"Well, I have-um had a mom, dad, and a brother-Kai. My dad was a big business man, always on business trips, never home. I didn't even know what he worked for, my parents never told me. My mother was basically left to raise me and my younger brother, Kai. We moved to New York from Florida after my father went mysteriously missing about 6 months ago. Someone told us it would be safer there. That my father had allies there. That it was his wish to live there once retired. My mother, of course listened. We had a free apartment, I rejoined a swim team. Life was going good. Until last night." A tear slipped down my face.

"What happened, my dear?"

I took a deep breath. "I came back from swim, and there were alien robots attacking my brother and mother. The alien robots took Kai, and my mother.......they...they...killed her." I said, tears rolling down my cheek.

"The tiger, fish, and dog took me, but I don't know where my brother is."

"The foot are looking for you?"

"I guess so."

"Oh no, Miss Lotus, you are in grave danger."

"What do I do?"

"Now that the Shredder wants you he will stop at no cost to get you. And your brother is also in danger. We will find him. But there is something I need you to do. And it might be difficult, but it essential."

"Anything."

"You must stay here."

"WHAT! Bu-

"There is no choice. I will train you, my sons will protect you," he took my hand and looked into my eyes,"and we will foil Shredders plan get your brother for you."

"So, will you avenge your mother, save your brother, and stay here?"

"Or will you let your brother die in the hands of aliens, and be hunted your whole life?"-

My voice was stuck at my throat. Tears were running down my face. But I took a deep breath, and said,

"I will."

Kinda a fill-in but I got myself going so I'll try to update faster. Sorry! It's just so much volunteering and stuff! And I'm so busy it's hard to write! But I'll try to get a chapter in at least every 2-4 days! Have a fun summer guys! ☀️✌🏻️❤️
