5|| My Heroes

||Lotus ||

My head was throbbing, but I was gaining conscious. Aww come on, just 5 more minutes, mommy. But as usual, nooo, I never got my extra 5.

I decided to give in.

My eyes fluttered open and I woke in a place which was not my bed. Oh, my loveee. I was in some sort of place which slightly smelled of sewage. Where am I?

I heard shuffling to my left and my head snapped up. That's when I saw THEM.

'They' were actually four humanoid turtles. They had different masks, too. The tallest had a purple mask, the second had a blue one - which I might add complimented his indigo eyes very nicely, the third tallest had a ragged up red mask, and the shortest had an orange mask, whose tails were really short.

"Hiiiii!!!!" The orange masked turtle says, sitting on the coach opposite form me.

"W-where am I?" I said, still sleepy. "And who are you," I say, pointing my fingers at them. "Actually, what are you?" I press on, my eyes narrowing.

"Psh, like we're gonna tell you! We should be asking you the same things!" Red says back.

Hmph. I snort, as if I find his remarks funny.

"Raph! That's not how we trust guests!" Blue says. He looks at me, worry in his eyes. "I'm sorry, my hothead brother isn't really the most welcoming of peop-err turtles."

"It's fine. I understand."

"So, are you okay?" Blue says coming closer, but not too close that it would invade my private space.

"Ya, blue. I'm okay as a person who just lost their whole family and is as beaten up as can be! Yep, I'm sunny!" I snicker sarcastically.

He looked hurt for a second and I felt my stomach turn. This isn't like me. I just met these peop-err turtles, and I'm so rude. I need to get myself together.

|| Leonardo ||

To be honest, I was slightly hurt at her comment, but when I looked into her eyes, I could see all the fear, confusion, guilt, and dread in her eyes. Also, Sensei has been teaching me how to feel people's emotions, and I could tell she didn't mean to say those things. But one thing got me confused.

"Blue?" I asked.

"Well, um, I, ur, don't really know your name," she finished quickly.

Oh.

I mentally slapped myself.

Raph scoffed.

"I know you're not Don, but even Mikey could think of telling her your name!"

"Ya!....hey!"

Donnie just face palmed.

The girl giggled a little at our argument, and to my shame, at me. I felt my cheeks flushing.

"I'm Lotus. Lotus Kimaro. It's a pleasure to meet you, uh-

"Leonardo. Call me Leo. I'm the leader."

"Show off," Raph commented. I ignored him.

"And that, over, my fair lady, is the hothead Raphael."

"And muscle! Call me Raph." Raph interrupted.

I pointed to Don. "Donatello, the brains."

Donnie waved at Lotus and smiled,"You can call me Donnie or Don."

Lotus just nodded.

"And finally, last, but DEFINETELY not least-

"Michelangelo! You can call me Mikey, tho dudette! Or Mr. Prankenstien!!!" Mikey yelled.

"The idiot," Raph said.

Once the turtles introduced themselves, I still had one question.

"What do I do now?" I whispered. I was completely lost. I looked down and sighed, the day's events finally weighing down on my like a chain ball. I still had so many questions for them but I didn't ask them.

"Oh, ya! Master Splinter wants to talk to you!" Leo says, coming over and plopping down next to me.

"Master Splinter?" Jeez how many turtles are there?

"As long as you're not scared of rats, you find out safely enough." Mikey responded.

Rats?

"Um, where do I go?" Oh god I felt like a burden right now. I hate it.

"I'll show you to the dojo." Leo said.

He stood and held his hand out.

Wow what a gentleman.

I sheepishly stood and shyly took his hand, not looking him in the eyes. He leads me behind the kitchen and to a big room, which has so many weapons. Before we move on, I lightly grab his arm. He turns and looks at me.

"Um, Leonardo, I just wanted to say thank for saving me, and I'm sorry about my remark back there, it's kinda been a lot on me today."

He smiled and said," no problem, Lotus, it happens. And as for saving you, it's our duty. We're heroes."

My heroes.

I smile, and ask,"what does, ur, Master Splinter want me to talk to him about?" I say biting my lip.

"To be honest, I don't know. But don't worry, he's really wise!"

"Ok, thanks again, Leonardo."

"No problem. And call me Leo." He says before walking out.

I smile and turn around to face a door.

I take a big breath before knocking and entering the Japanese paper sliding doors.

(A/n) sorry this update took longer than I excepted! I've been so busy with swim practice, and other activities. But I'll make it up by trying to get in one chapter tomorrow and two on the weekends! Btw; I'm working on a TMNT 2012 Lego submarine which I will post a pic of in the next chapter! Will Splinter accept Lotus? While truths be revealed? Let's see! 😈
