YUNHEE
After spending hours of getting to know each other, taking pictures and eating a lot while we were at it, I realized that it was almost ten. It didn't cross my mind even once that Mr. Popular Handsome Guy here probably had better things to do with his friends.
"Thank you for today, I had a really good time! And I'm sorry for making your friends and other responsibilities wait," I say sheepishly after I get off his bike, which was temporarily parked in front of my residence. He scoffs.
"No, thank you for coming. I honestly had a great day thanks to you. We should definitely do this again some time," he says with a smile, immediately followed by a quick side hug since he was still seated on his bike. He then bids goodbye, before disappearing into the darkness. I remain a blushing mess in front of the building entrance, unable to believe the day I had and the fact that Hyunjin just hugged me?
I slowly walk upstairs, still having a goofy smile plastered on my face. This was the bare minimum, but why did I have butterflies battling it out in my stomach?
I barely even realize I'm in front of my apartment, till a certain smiley Shin Ryujin walks out of the neighboring room.
"What the hell are you doing here?" We both say at the same time, immediately losing our smiles. I could tell she was hiding something, and I'm sure she could tell I was too, because we share a knowing glance before extending our hands towards each other.
"Let's never bring this up again," I say as she fervently nods her head. I slip into my room and close the door behind me, but I didn't stop there. I had a feeling I knew what she was hiding, so I decided to investigate through the peephole. Besides, I had to get back at her for finding about Jay and I last night.
"I KNEW IT," I gasp loudly as I spot Yeji leaving, Ryujin's longtime crush (and probably something more now). Ryujin shoots back an offended look as though I violated her.
"Hey, you weren't supposed to look!"
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T TELL ME," I exclaim as I fling the door open, waiting for her to spill the beans. She sighs in defeat before entering my room and telling me how she and Yeji have been a couple for over a month.
"A MONTH? When were you gonna tell us? I still can't believe you've been together since before that party Jay threw!"
"She's not out to anyone yet, so I haven't told anyone. Promise you won't tell anyone?" She says as she brings out her pinky finger, waiting for me to interlock it with mine. Once the deal was sealed, she brings her focus to me.
"Since you mentioned Jay, who were you with? Don't give me the "I was out by myself" crap because no one smiles like that after spending the day by themselves." I awkwardly laugh and she gets the completely wrong message.
"Girl, don't tell me... you were with Jay again? What's going on between you two?" She asks in disbelief as she gets up from her seat. I widen my eyes at her misunderstanding.
"What? No! Why would I be out with Jay? I didn't even see him today!" I exclaim defensively. To be honest, I wouldn't have been so discreet about meeting Hyunjin if it wasn't for the extra details the girls would fish out of me somehow. I couldn't stand the thought of all the teasing that would come with.
"I don't believe you. I'm gonna call him and find out myself, loser," she says as she fishes her phone out of her pockets.
"Be my guest," I say lazily as she rolls her eyes. Three rings in, Park Jay was on the line. She keeps the phone on speaker mode.
"Were you with Yun today? Tell me honestly," she jumps straight to the point. He sighs.
"What's with girls skipping greetings these days..." he tells himself. "Also, who is this?"
