JAY

Something was wrong, that's for sure. It was out of the ordinary for Yunhee to be absent without having anyone know why. I tried calling and texting her multiple times because it had been over twenty minutes since the first lecture started and there was no sign of her. Despite seeing that her phone was ringing, there was no response.

I suddenly remember that her and Ryujin come here together since they're neighbors. I find her phone number from one of our common group chats and I text her.

me
hey, its jay
why hasnt yunhee come to class yet? is she sick?

I get a response almost immediately.

ryujin
no? wdym???
we literally walked into campus together today morning and split ways to go to our respective departments
wait so she's not in class??

Okay, this was not good.

YUNHEE

Of all days I had to leave my textbook at home, it had to be today. It had been catching dust in my locker for the past few weeks and I decided to keep it at home, which turned out to be a not so wise decision. Usually, I could've done without a textbook, but we had some analysis thing planned for today and having a text to refer to would be really helpful.

The sound of the bell ringing grabs the attention of my ears as I was still stuck in a dilemma. Should I quickly go home and take what I need or suffer in class?

I had been standing in front of my locker for a good ten minutes, not realizing that I'm wasting more time like this. Deciding to suck it up, I close the door to walk towards my class. I was sure that an earful awaited me.

However, I was prevented from moving forward by a bunch of rough hands grabbing my hair. I shriek in pain.

"Ah- who the fuck? What's wrong with you?" I say as I forcefully push her hands off my hair. When I look at her face and her two minions next to her, I could only say it was about time I expected something like this to happen.

"Jang Haneul," I seethe. She gives me a satisfied smirk and looks at her nails, while her so-called "best friends" Hana and Jiah laugh at the back. I felt like I was looking at a bunch of real-life barbie dolls, except they had the personality of trolls. It certainly didn't add to their appeal.

"Choi Yunhee. We have things to talk about," she says as she loudly chews the gum in her mouth. It was giving me the ick.

"I am related to you in no way at all, so get off my back. I need to get to class now, I'm already late as it is and I do not look forward to seeing your caked face again," I say, annoyed that I had to deal with their crap first thing in the morning. I turn around to leave but she stops me with her foot.

"I'm not giving you an option." 'Ooh scaryyyy~' is what I would've said if I gave a fuck.

"Look, girl, I don't have time for your nonsense. So if you'll excuse me, we can settle our non existent problems after class."

That did not sit well with the trolls.

In the span of less than a minute, I was being dragged by my hair to the washrooms nearby. My screams came out muffled as one of them covered my mouth with their hands. Once we were inside, I get pushed onto the ground and Hana covers the door with the janitor's cart to prevent anyone from entering inside.

"Not so brave now, are we?" Haneul provokes me. Overcome with anger, I rise up from the floor and grab her hair. She starts shrieking and her useless friends stand there like a bunch of idiots. I pull her towards me before shoving her into a bathroom stall. Still less painful than getting thrown onto the floor or wall, I guess.
