YUNHEE:

"Say ahh," Jay says after blowing on a spoon of hot soup, bringing it closer to my mouth. I eye him weirdly.

"Don't be ridiculous, I'll have it myself," I scoff as I roll my eyes. Internally, I was freaking out; why was he being so nice to me? And more importantly, why was I enjoying the attention and care he was giving me?

"No, you stop being ridiculous. The doctor said your arms might be sore, so you need to give them a break for a bit. And don't act like you don't have that big ass bandage on your head," he says matter-of-fact-ly.

"Still, it's a bit weird of you to be doing this, don't you think?" I challenge him, trying to draw attention away from my face, which was slowly turning a shade of pink. He scoffs.

"You're the one making things weird! You're sick and I'm just helping you out. Would you find it odd if any of your other friends treated you like this, or is it just me?" He asks as he raises his voice the slightest bit. He was right. I look away and sigh.

"I'm sorry," I mumble a quick apology since it kind of hurt my pride.

"Leave it. Turn here and open your mouth, the soup isn't that hot anymore," he says and weirdly enough, I listen to him like a child. For some reason, I kept looking at his face the entire time he fed me, not realizing that the spoon slipped and he accidentally spilled soup on my chin.

"I am so sorry-" he apologizes as he scurries around the room, searching for a tissue box. Once he locates it, he quickly grabs some and returns to his original spot in front of me, hurrying to wipe the liquid off my face. He holds my jaw with one hand as he dabs the tissue on my skin with the other, seemingly not realizing how close our faces were. My eyes slightly widen at his touch, but I continue to keep my eyes locked on him the entire time. Once he was done, he looks up.

Those eyes. Those eyes. They could've been my last straw. Maybe it was the effect of the medication and whatnot, but Jay was starting to look hella attractive to me right now. I see his adam's apple bob up and down as he gulps, making me feel all tingly and nervous inside.

My body starts moving forward on its own, ignoring all requests made by my brain to distance myself from him. I glance at his lips, leaning closer and closer to him until...

"Don't you think you're slacking off, princess? You're not listening to the class," Jay whispers into my ears, sending shivers throughout my body. I snap back to reality, realizing that I had been daydreaming about what happened at the hospital last week (except for the near kiss which didn't actually happen, of course). Currently, I am seated in a class where the professor was going on about marketing, and Jay had caught me drift off mid-lecture. My ears turn red in embarrassment.

"Pretend that never happened," I say as I cover my face and turn away from him. I hear him chuckle from beside me. I automatically smile at the sound; even him laughing became music to my ears now. Did I lose my senses when that artificially altered bitch gave me a concussion??

"Listen, I know it's been a week and I wanted to give you some time to heal, but I really need to get this off my chest now," Jay says after pulling me into a quiet corner of the campus after our break started. Judging by the way he was shifting in his spot, I could tell he was being serious. I had no idea what he was on about.

"I'm sorry."

I could only look at him confused.

"I know you've been an ass to me before and you've already done your bit to be forgiven, so what's with the sudden apology?" I tease.
