RYUJIN
I had enough of the weird tension around Jay and Yunhee. Jay definitely felt something for her, which was the only logical explanation behind his jealousy, but I couldn't really tell the same about Yunhee. It was evident he wasn't enjoying all the "HyunHee" shipping going on around him, which is why I decided to take matters into my own hands. Sure, they seemed like they'd make a good couple, but I was rooting for her and Jay more than anyone else.
My plan to make their midnight ice cream adventure sound scandalous was working well, till a certain Yang Jungwon decided to add unnecessary drama when his phone pinged with a notification. He gasps loudly.
"OMG YUNHEE, you never told us you and Hyunjin hugged! THAT'S SO BIG!" He exclaims upon scanning his phone. I was definitely surprised since I wasn't aware either, but Mr. Park Jay here was experiencing seven stages of grief upon hearing the news. He literally leaps out of his seat to grab Jungwon's phone for proof.
"SHOW ME," he says, almost slipping on a tray of emptied plastic utensils.
"Who told you???" Yunhee says as she freezes in panic.
"It was a fucking food delivery app notif- WAIT WHAT," Jay says as he whips his head at her direction. She immediately covers her mouth like she got caught red-handed and attempts to run away, before Heeseung pulls her by her sleeves back to her seat.
"Details. Now."
From the distance, I notice Hyunjin looking at the entire scene unfold with a fond look in his eyes. Still wearing his sugary sweet smile, he turns around and walks away.
YUNHEE
If Jay thought having a jaw-dropping face card could make him less annoying, he could not have been more wrong.
"Keep it down, will you? I can't hear the professor," I warn him as he keeps fidgeting with any and every thing in his line of sight. How, even I don't know.
"Alright, my princess," he says casually as he turns away from me. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, my stomach erupts in butterflies at the title, even though he was being sarcastic. I cover my cheeks before he notices them red and starts teasing me.
Any sign of Park Jay being swoon-worthy fell apart as soon as he started clicking one of those cursed pens of his. Just before I could tell him off again, the professor temporarily leaves the class.
"That's it. I'm getting out of here," I announce as I start packing up my things. He looks up at me surprised.
"What about class?"
"No, dumbass. I'm gonna switch seats with Taehyun so I'll be next to Jake. I know he's not gonna bother me like you do. You can be Taehyun's headache for a while," I say as I pick up my books and walk over to Jake's table. I negotiate with Taehyun for a bit before he finally caves in and lets me sit in his place. He's the studious type, so it's understandable why he wouldn't want to sit with someone who's permanently distracted like Jay.
"Toodles," I mouth as I wave at Jay from my temporary new seat. He pouts in fake sadness, but he looked cute. Obviously, I'd never tell that to his face because he'll only get a massive ego boost out of it. Taehyun gives me a look of pity, as though to ask "is this what you have to deal with every day?"
JAKE
Anyone could clearly tell Jay felt jealous when Yunhee got involved with any dude in the most minor, unnoticeable ways ever, and that's exactly what birthed the group chat with all of Yunhee and Jay's friends to plot ways to pair them together (translated as make Jay jealous).
Ryujin made the group and added everyone, excluding the possible future couple, of course, earlier today after all the Hyunjin fiasco. Even though everyone seemed to support them together, deep inside we were sure Jay and her felt something for each other but masked it as "hatred".
