We often think of life-defining moments as grand gestures, the mountain peaks of our experience.

But the truth is, the tiny pebbles beneath our feet, the small moments, shape us just as much.

It's the exhilaration of finally mastering a skill, the warm joy of a shared laugh, the excitement of sneaking out for the first time...

These feelings become the emotional anchors of our memories.

And when we revisit them, it's not just the events we recall, but the way they made us feel.

It's a feeling you'll experience ten times more intensely when you reflect back on that specific memory.

Perhaps with a little bit of nostalgia.

It's strange—realizing in the moment that this seemingly ordinary experience will become a beautiful core memory, a vivid scene replayed in your mind for years to come.

And sometimes, life's best, yet most defining moments, arrive like unexpected detours.

It's like planning a grand, carefully mapped road trip across the country.

Then, a hidden waterfall tucked away on a curvy backroad catches your eye, and you decide to veer off course.

The detour might be short, but the memory of that cascading blue water, the cool spray on your face, the warmth of the hot sun—it all becomes a cherished memory on your journey.

And for me, Renata's not just that waterfall.

She's the entire detour I never knew I needed.

A detour that led me not just to a new memory, but to a whole new life.

One that I can't wait to live by her side.

Chapter Ninety-Two: The Elopement

"See this is exactly why we should've waited to tell you," Lunden said as she continued wrapping the curling iron around my long strand of pink hair.

With the dark brown long gone from my hair and the soft pink color in place of it, I was myself again.

Or at least I felt like it.

"I think it's cute," Devora argued her point, sitting on the bathroom counter in front of me as she carefully coated my face in makeup.

Lunden laughed again, "The Elopement?" she repeated back to Devora, "Because that's considered a theme and tonight—"

"Is free of any themes or plans," I cut her short, raising a brow at Miracle who was steaming the ruffled white dress free of any wrinkles.

Renata wanted this to be impulsive, so that's exactly what this will be.

Impulsive.

Except for one small detail.

Otherwise, my fiancée shall have her way.
