A grand wedding dress, a veil sweeping the floor, a smile on my lips beneath the scorching summer sun.
That's what I expected of my wedding.
That's what the fairytales promised.
But with age came wisdom, or at least a different perspective.
I craved connection, raw emotion—tears, even messy ones.
A wedding that echoed the truth of our bond, not a staged performance.
But as a Queen, I would have none of that.
A wedding was to be a ceremony.
Not to form a lifelong love, but a partnership instead.
The crown always had a way of dulling out life's most sentimental moments.

She's fire to the crown's chilling ice.
She brings everything to life.
She brings me to life.
And she somehow brings the crown to life.
Fighting harder against the traditions, and winning.
I realize that all this time...
She's been the key to unlocking this gilded cage I've been trapped in.

I nodded, not bothering to give his question a second thought as I took a closer step to Renata.
It felt like I couldn't bear being even a few inches apart from her.
