Chapter: 33 Massacre

Erika let out a nervous whine as she layed on the back of Bob. The flame bird dug his feet through the dirt as he shifted on his feet. They were next to Ainz who was wearing that red and green mask from when they invited Nemu Anshan the others over to Nazarick.

"Papa, is it time yet. We've been standing here for hours." Erika just wanted to get this over with. She just hopes Wayland was safe with Aspen far away from this battle. The wait for the war to begin was killing her.

Ainz looked at his daughter. Her eyes were wide with worry and she was fidgeting constantly. But she also had a look of determination for what he didn't know. Ainz put his hand on her head, causing the young girl to look up at him. "Of course my little flame we were just making sure everything was ready. We are here to show off our skills to the Empire after all. Come let's make a good first impression."

The Death knights were the first to leave two brandishing the flags Nazarick as they fell in line with the Empire knights. Erika gave Ainz a nod as she tapped Bob urging him to walk. She along with her papa, Mare, and one of the emperor's knights Nimble Arc Dale Anoch followed behind.

As they walked Erika noticed all the human knights being to shake as the Death knights passed by even the horses began to feel restless.Feeling sorry for the emperor's army she decided to cast a spell she had learned in her boredom during her cake ban. Lifting up her hands she chanted the spell. "[ Calm Emotions]"

Erika watched as the human knights relaxed a little. Some even give her a grateful smile and a nod of appreciation. Others looked astonished that a young girl demon or not could cast a spell on an entire army of people. She was so distracted by them she missed the way some of the death knights had stopped moving to watch her.

Once she was finished casting the spells she had noticed that she had fallen behind and her papa was already casting his spell. Tapping Bob's neck the two rushed to Ainz's side.

She watched as several magic circles formed above them. It was quite a site to see. She didn't even think there could be so many different magic circles.

"No response." Ainz muttered, causing both Erika and Bob to tilt their heads in confusion. What response was he looking for? Then it clicked, he was looking for mages making sure no one is strong enough to counter his attack.

'Papa is so smart!'

"Yes, now the festival of destruction can begin." He spoke once more looking down at an hourglass in the palm of his hand. Erika didn't even get a chance to ask why he had an hourglass before he broke it. "[I make this tribute to Dark Fertility â€" Iä Shub-Niggurath]!"

A black wind raced past a portion of the kingdom's army who looked to be charging forward. Then out of nowhere they all began to drop.

It was the first time Erika had seen so many humans die so quickly. Though the spell was impressive it kind of made her a little sick that they didn't even get a chance. But she shook the feeling off. This was war. They were here to protect the emperor's army. She shouldn't feel bad when the kingdom agreed to go to war.

Gasps of horror could be heard from the knights behind them. It seems that their instinctual fear was still peeking through her calming spell. Though she couldn't blame them. Watching thousands of your own kind drop dead so suddenly would shake anyone to their core.

"Is something the matter of Master Nimble?" Ainz asked calmly, causing the man to flinch back. Erika shook her head at her papa's question. 'Of course there was something wrong. You just killed a good portion of the enemy's army without even trying. Dense Papa!'

"I…I was merely stunned by the power of your spell just now. It was terrifyingly effective. To think that seventy thousand people…" The man's fearful rambling was cut off by Ainz's sudden laughter which only managed to scare the man even more. "Did I say something wrong?!"
