"A double date? How is Mr. World Champion going to handle having to be nice to you for hours upon end?"

Ella was on facetime as I got ready for dinner. I had about an hour before needing to be ready, "I teased him about that back in Australia. But, I'm not sure, I bet he'll find a way to make some sort of snide comment without anyone hearing."

The girl laughed, taking another bite of her lunch. It was only around noon in Wilmington, time zones always made me feel weird about being away.

"I'll be waiting for my debrief after because I'm far too invested to not know every detail."

"I'm hoping nothing noteworthy happens tonight, but it is Max, so who knows what could happen." I laugh, curling another strand of hair.

The next hour passed by rather quickly, my makeup and hair done in record time before I decided to search for something to dress. We were in Monaco, so I knew I had to look put together. I'm pretty sure if I wore something casual to dinner I would get stares, so a dress it is.

Thankfully, my clothing had made it here no issue, so I had a wide variety of clothing to choose from.

After a few minutes of Ella describing random dresses in my wardrobe that she thought would look pretty, I landed on a simple black one that she'd bought for me on one of her spontaneous shopping trips last spring. "How do I look?"

I propped my phone up, taking a couple of steps away so Ella could see the whole outfit, even going as far as to already match shoes with my dress.

Her face lit up, "Stunning, as always."

A text from Max came through as she answered.

Max: i'm outside, let's go

So demanding, as usual.

A frown pulled at my face, "My ride is here, gotta go. Love you!"

"Don't die!" Ella smiled, playfully blowing me a kiss.

I laughed as I ended the call, grabbing my purse before leaving the house to meet up with Max. He was leaning against the side of his car with his arms crossed as he waited, an annoyed look on his face.

"Took you long enough."

I rolled my eyes, wanting to flip him off so badly.

"Gotta make sure I look pretty for my boy, right?" Sending him a wink as I stopped not even a foot in front of him, my feet nudging against his own. Messing with him was too easy.

He huffed, "Just get in the car."

"You're not going to be a gentleman and open my door for me?"

Max groaned, pushing himself off of the side of the car to move to open the car door. "You;re going to be the death of me, Rockstar."

I slid into my seat, turning my head so I was looking up at him again. "Oh, I sure hope so." My eyes held the most mischievous glint in them. He probably hated me so bad right now.

"You look stunning!" Charlotte gasped, pulling me into a hug as Max and I joined them outside of the restaurant.

It had been a while since I had seen her, the girl's presence was always a pleasure, "Me? You look even better." I smiled brightly as I held onto her.

A breath of fresh air she is.

"We've got some beautiful girlfriends, don't we, Max?" I turned to see Charles smirking, elbowing Max in the ribcage.

The Monegasque man only made the comment to mess with Max, I knew it, but Charlotte didn't. She was blissfully unaware of the origins of our relationship and maybe that was a good thing.
