"Good morning!" Kate's voice flooded through the speaker of my phone, "Wait, I mean good afternoon!"

I forgot how contagious her laughter was.

I laughed along as I walked next to Max, Lili's hand in mine as we ventured through the paddock in Brazil. Today was media day for the Brazil Grand Prix and we'd arrived a few hours ago at the circuit for Max to complete his media duties. He'd already done a few interviews and now we were waiting for the press conference.

"Well, good morning to you!"

"I thought Taylor would've told you, but seeing as you're in Brazil, I know she didn't." I could hear Kate typing on her computer in the background. "I actually need you in LA to record the songs you've already written. We need to get the majority of it done so we can still have release be in January."

I stopped in my tracks. She was right, we were on a tight timeline. "Geez, you're right. Okay, well.... I guess I'll head out later today."

"Perfect! See you tomorrow, Babe."

With that, Kate ended the call.

I sighed, shoving my phone in the back pocket of my jeans. I could feel Max staring at the side of my head. He's obviously heard that I'll be leaving.

"What's going on?" He hummed, his thumb running over the knuckles of the hand he was holding.

I ran a hand through my hair, "Taylor didn't tell me that I was needed in the studio this weekend." I'm not sure why she wasn't keeping me up to date on all of my things, she's my manager for a reason. "Kate said if I want to keep the January release I need to record this weekend."

"Makes sense." Max shrugged, "We'll miss you, but you've got to keep up with your own work. When do you want to leave? I'll book a flight."

Of course, he was going to take on the hassle of booking my flight. Acts of service is so Max coded.

"Around dinner?" I suggested, leaning in to press a kiss to his lips.

I'll never get tired of the feeling of his lips on mine. He's lucky I don't try to kiss him every chance that I get.

"I'll get on that." He nodded, kissing me again for his own pleasure. "Why don't you take Lil back to the hotel and start packing? I'll be back in a couple of hours."

I nodded, tugging on the little girl's hand to pull her in the direction of the exit. She was quick to follow, seeing as she usually made every excuse to be able to do whatever it was that I was doing.

My mind drifted to the songs I'd be recording, how raw and real they were. Geez, I was really going through it when I wrote those. It was right after everything went down with Max and my mind was in a never-ending spiral.

Max.

"Hey, Max!" I turned around, calling out for the man.

He wasn't too far, turning around and jogging over at the sound of me calling for him. I wonder what he thought I wanted. "Miss me already?" He cheekily asked, kissing me again.

I giggled, shaking my head. "I just wanted to warn you."

"Warn me?" He asked with furrowed brows.

"About the songs... most of them were written in July to September. I'm kind of spilling my guts about everything that happened and how I was feeling."

Max shrugged.

Shrugged.

"I'm actually kind of interested in hearing them."
