Taylor G.: why are there news outlets making a fuss about you not showing up with Max on Thursday for media?

I nearly burst into laughter when the text came through.

Lili sent me a weird look from her spot beside me in the backseat of the car. Miami traffic was brutal, so we'd been driving from the hotel to the circuit for far too long in my opinion.

because when ella and i landed in miami thursday morning max refused to wait for me to get to the hotel before going to the paddock and our passes were locked in his hotel room

I had tried to go to the circuit yesterday, wanting to see all the boys again and introduce Ella to some of my closest friends besides her. But lo and behold, asshole Max was back. Not only had he refused to wait for us to get to the hotel yesterday morning, he also had refused to pick us up from the airport like he was meant to do. Our Uber had been late arriving at the airport which only made our arrival at the hotel even later, that was why he'd left.

So, all Ella and I were able to do yesterday was check in the hotel and spend the day gallivanting around Miami. Not that I'm complaining, the beach day was definitely worth it.

I'd only figured out when Charles had texted me mid-day to figure out why I wasn't there that Max had gone to the circuit two hours before he needed to be, which only meant he'd left the hotel before we arrived on purpose. He's clearly not over me leaving Monaco without warning.

I wonder if he's still mad at me about our argument during the facetime?

Taylor G.: that makes me feel better, sorry he's being that way. make sure you're there for the rest of the weekend, please.

My eyes lifted from my phone, looking over at the small girl seated next to me, her blue eyes shining brightly as she smiled at me.

don't worry, ella and i are with him now (he made me sit in the back with lili)!

I had laughed at Max's childish actions when he told me to sit in the back on the drive here, allowing Ella to sit by his side. He'd covered up his attitude by saying that it was because Lili wanted to sit with me – which could be partially true, but I knew the real reason was because he didn't want to have to sit next to me.

"Don't leave me alone with Daddy ever again." Lili pouted at me, reaching from her car seat to touch me.

I laughed, leaning forward so she could touch my face, her small fingers running over my cheek. "Was he terrible to hang out with?"

"The worstest! He didn't braid my hair or nothing."

"How dare he!"

I knew that my agreement with his daughter was only driving him to be more annoyed with me, but it was fun. I feel as though it's only right to team up with Lili against Max.

The car was shifted into park and turned off not too long later, the four of us all climbing out. Lili skipped over to Ella as we exited the car, claiming my best friend as her new one. I, on the other hand, made my way to Max's side. No matter how annoyed we were with each other, we still had to fake our happiness so as to not ruin the image of our perfect relationship.

I slide my hand into his, shivering at the feeling of electricity shooting down my spine at the connection of our hands. I'm not sure what that was.

"You have to be nice to me today." I smirked, glancing up at him.

He softly groaned, "Much to my misfortune."

Max squeezed my hand tight, likely to inform me that he was still in fact angry with me. I shrugged him off, frankly not caring.

Ella and Lili walked a couple of steps behind, all of us somewhat together as we approached the gates. A few feet away from the entrance, fans called for Max... and me? I heard my name amongst the screams. Typically this is where we parted ways, me taking Lili and exploring the paddock before Max joined us, but this time it sounded like the fans also wanted to see me.
