A young girl walked through the dark and dusty cavern that had been poorly carved out, but so hidden it was perfect for a hideout. She was young, and scrawny, as if she hadn't eaten in days. She wore some old and tattered armor that wrapped around her waist and arms, as well as her legs. Underneath was just some old fabric shirt and loose pants, and she wore various kinds of armor on the most random places of her body.

She had a nervous look on her face as she pushed across a large stone that covered another room. This room was definitely planned, with patterned walls and a wooden floor with elegant carpet. There was a small table in a corner, but in the center of the room was a large chair that looked almost like a throne, though it didn't match the room at all. A few of various types of weapons hung on shelves on the walls. Inside the throne sat a tall woman with long, blonde hair. A long red cape dragged on the ground even while she was sitting, and she had a sharp gaze with pale blue eyes. Long black gloves ran up to her elbows, and she had a tightly-worn white dress that touched the ground.

The woman crossed her arms and looked at the young girl with cold eyes that were like daggers. "Well? How did it go?" She asked with a low voice.

The young girl fiddled with her fingers as she walked deeper into the room. "Well, Signora-I mean mother-I mean ma'am...uhm..not very well."

"WHAT!?" Signora lept from her seat in fury and rage. "AGAIN!? You really are useless, Akari." She spat, her face beginning to turn red as she got more furious. Akari, the young girl, flinched and took a step back, almost trampling over a tall lamp behind her.

Akari started to well up into tears. "I'm sorry, but the culprit you wanted me to catch would disappear, even before I was seen! I'm being serious! Into thin air!" Her hands started to tremble even before she could realize them, and she hid them behind her back.

Signora paced back and forth, glaring at her daughter. "You are pathetic. After all I've done for you! After Dottore-whom, by the way, is the 2nd fatui harbinger, restored your strength, I took you in! I adopted your weak state! You were supposed to help me climb the ranks and become the first! You were going to be a harbinger, and live out my legacy!" She screamed out, and Akari flinched again. The floor beneath Signora echoed throughout the room with loud, but elegant steps.

"I-I'm sorry..." Akari murmured, looking down. Her periwinkle eyes danced around the room in hopes of finding something to focus on, other than the raging fury of her mother. She pressed her lips tightly together, refraining from saying anything that would make the situation worse.

Signora's eyes narrowed as she walked to the young girl, the weak girl, kicking her to the ground with heels that cut like knives. She smirked slightly, amused by Akari's reactions. "Trash. I should really never trust Dottore. You'll never have the potential to become anything worthy of the title, harbinger." Before she could stomp on Akari once again, Akari leapt up and drew her scythe, gifted to her many years ago, and charged at her own mother. She was too scared to think at the moment, but did so anyway, in hopes that she could be free from the grasp and wrath of the fatui harbinger. However, her attack was immediately blocked by something in which is called a delusion, attached to Signora's clothes, and a cryo blast pushed Akari back to the ground, the ice shards freezing up her scythe, but Akari still kept her firm grip on it.

"So you think you can go up against me now?" Signora sneered. "How cute." She crossed her arms, looking down on the pathetic girl before her. "Why do you refuse the strength that's been given to you, hm? I've trained you for years, and you still look like a pathetic child who can't take one hostage."

Akari's breathing was heavy by now, looking down at her own weak body. "I challenge you...because I don't want to be under your grasp. I'm done with being forced upon by you. And I'm not weak." Her eyes became firm and she spoke with such braveness, she didn't recognize herself.
