For the next few weeks, Kinoko suffered with a broken wrist, a twisted ankle, many severe cuts and bruises, and a severe head injury. It took a while to recover physically, but her friends and family were there to help get her through it. She found herself doing whatever she could to show her gratitude for them.

School was 3 weeks away from starting, though Kinoko spent a lot of time in the Akademiya to read and keep herself busy while she was healing.

Regarding commissions, Wanderer and she had chosen to do the more simple ones that required light tasks so it wouldn't be straining her injuries. They also chose to stop training for a time. Every time she used her power, it hurt, because she was reminded of the many Fatui soldiers she fought, and the harbinger she fought along with it. That's what she had to remind herself-my power is meant to kill.

It felt a little comforting yet strange when she went out with her best friend in public. Wanderer seemed more defensive of her as of late. He seemed to be on edge whenever enemies were nearby, or whenever they were in a crowd. She noticed him doing more acts of service for her, even when she never asked.

A feeling of dread was constantly clawing at her throat now, one that she couldn't get rid of.

"Shit." Her own words snapped her out of her thoughts. She had accidentally scraped herself with the tip of her quill while letting her thoughts wander. The black of the ink covered up the blood slowly inching away from it. She bit back a few curses from her mouth. She was in a library, after all. The House of Daena was mostly quiet today, with all the students avoiding the Akademiya like a plague to enjoy their summer.

"What did you do this time?" Wanderer mumbled, sitting in the seat next to her. He glanced at the wound, and immediately took out the first aid kit he's been keeping on him at all times now. Gently, he took Kinoko's hand and placed a bandage over it.

Kinoko stared at the bandage, her face growing hot with embarrassment. "I don't know what you did to Koi, but you're being way too nice to me lately."

"Pfft, would you rather have me insult you endlessly? Because I will." Wanderer scoffed, leaning back in his seat. "I'm not the worst person in the world anymore. Nahida is making me do 2 nice things for someone every day. It's entirely cringe, but it's not like I have anything else to do."

"Could we visit her today?" Kinoko asked. She'd been meaning to talk to the archon, especially regarding possible outcomes of Childe's choice. By now though, Kinoko has accepted and understood the choice he chose to make. Childe was still a little evil after all, no matter how kind he was to Kinoko back then. In her heart, she now saw him as a brother that never could be, but it still hurt. Well, physically, of course, but also emotionally.

She found herself wanting to stick close to the people around her tightly. It was often she stayed awake at night with anxiety penetrating her.

"Hm, I guess." Wanderer put the kit away and stood up. "We should probably finish that commission first." He picked up a small file that had the information about the commission with scribbled out words. They were supposed to battle hilichurls and 3 abyss mages that made camp in the forest.

Kinoko glanced at the sheet. "Alright." She carefully stood up. Her ankle was healed, so she could walk, it was mostly her other body parts that constantly remained sore.

It took about 30 minutes of walking, (and a little bit of flying) but Kinoko could finally see the camp up ahead. She locked eyes with a log a distance away from the battle scene. "I'll sit here for now, and help with cleanup." She announced. Wanderer didn't say anything but trekked ahead.

As he began fighting some hilichurls and abyss mage with ease, Kinoko couldn't help but admire him from afar. He did everything with such precision in grace-
