"She's not truly dead, is she?" A deep and serious voice of a man echoed in what sounded to be a large room.

"How would I know?" Another man's voice responded. "I've been looking for 4 years. I've never found any sort of proof that Ari would be alive."

The serious man scoffed. "That brat of an archon of wisdom would know. Go, find Lesser Lord Kussanali. Do whatever you can to find information about the girl."

The other man spoke up, "And why should I listen to you?"

"Because she has a power that I need back-the Tsaritsa needs back. We used too many resources on that worthless child." The serious man said.

"Fine, fine, I'll go."

"Good. Get on with it now. Don't keep me waiting and prove that you're worthy of your place."

Kinoko woke up to Wanderer shaking her shoulder roughly. She felt cold sweat running down her forehead, and her entire body was trembling. What was that... She thought.

"Good morning sunshine~" He said in a fake sweet-talking voice. His smile disappeared and he walked to the door, crossing his arms. "Breakfast. Last door to the right." Then, he disappeared.

"Ugh..." Kinoko yawned and stretched out her arms before getting up. She did as Wanderer said and went to the right of her, down the hallway, and to the last door to the right. Inside was a small kitchen. The floors were white marble, like the rest of the sanctuary. There was no windows, but light shone from a small un-filled hole in the roof. She looked to her right and saw Nahida, wearing a small apron with tiny drawings of aranara on them.

Kinoko didn't really expect to wake up and see Nahida cooking a big breakfast. At a small wooden table, Wanderer sat. There were stacks of pancakes on a small plate in the center, as well as a plate of biscuits. "Good morning!" Nahida said in a chirpy voice. "I made some pancakes! Take as many as you'd like!" She gestured to the table, and Kinoko sat down.

"Thank you so much!" Kinoko said softly. She leaned to the side to look at Wanderer, who was eating his pancakes. "Do puppets need to eat?" She asked, but immediately felt bad for asking.

He raised an eyebrow. "No, but it's free food." He shrugged and took another bite, but scowled. "Too sweet though."

Kinoko rolled her eyes. She wasn't surprised he wouldn't like sweet food. He didn't seem like the type to. She took a bite of her own pancakes and looked up, stunned. "Honestly, I can see why you wouldn't want to go back to your old lifestyle if this is what mornings are like here!"

"You like them?" Nahida asked. She giggled as she saw Kinoko take another bite quickly. She sat down next to Wanderer and Kinoko, and took a biscuit.

Kinoko smiled. "I love them. You're an amazing cook!" She complimented.

"I'm glad you think so." Nahida said softly. The three of them ate in peace, and Nahida even had prepared a syrup that was more bitter to suit Wanderer's tastes.

"Do you think I'm safe now?" Kinoko asked after she finished her food. "I need to go to Gandharva Ville, and I have class later this morning."

Wanderer's eyes stared right into hers. He seemed to be hesitating about it. "Fine. If you really want to, you can leave. But don't stray from the city, or Gandharva Ville."

"You're acting like you're my dad or something." Kinoko mumbled, standing up.

He rolled his eyes in response. "You should be grateful. I'm literally helping you out."
