"Hey...hey, wake up." Said the familiar voice of Tighnari as Kinoko groggily woke up. She was still on Kaveh's couch. A pillow and blanket had been given to her as she slept, but she shrugged them off, feeling very hot. Her head was throbbing at the moment. She also felt like crawling into a hole. She blinked a few times while adjusting to the light and looking at her surroundings. Staring down at her was Tighnari, Cyno, Kaveh, and Alhaitham.
"What the-" She cut herself off by standing up quickly. She tried to make sure her hair wasn't as much of a mess, and tried her best to not look like a drunk like before. The only reason she had gone to Kaveh in particular was probably that he got himself drunk often as well. But in front of someone she considered a brother...hell no. "What time is it?"
"About midnight." Alhaitham replied. He looked unamused at her as she shrank back into her seat.
"Kaveh, why didn't you wake me up?" She asked quietly. Nervousness was creeping up her skin as she fidgeted with her fingers behind her back.
"I didn't want to be rude and wake you up." Kaveh said defensively.
"You also have a project due." Tighnari sighed, gesturing for her to stand up. "Tomorrow. You're lucky I saved your ass. Again. Cyno and I also have something important to tell you, considering we've been waiting for hours for you to return to Gandharva Ville."
"You should've come sooner-or you could've told me in the morning!" Kinoko protested as she frantically started heading to the door.
"We didn't know where you were! We weren't about to sleep at night just not knowing where you are!" Tighnari argued. He swung open the door, letting Kinoko go first while she awkwardly waved to Kaveh and Alhaitham. Tighnari and Cyno followed, and she noticed how close they were standing next to each other.
After a few moments of silence, she spoke up, "So, what's the big news?" Her body was still a bit tense from the state she was in when she was woken up.
"Well..." Tighnari looked over to Cyno, who gave him a nod before he answered it. "Cyno and I are engaged."
"WHAT!?" Kinoko exclaimed, her tired and dead eyes lighting up. She bolted over in front of the two. "You two are finally getting married?" Her gaze flickered between the two, and her smile widened even more when she saw the ring on Tighnari's finger.
The couple's hands instinctively intertwined, and Cyno nodded. "Indeed." Cyno said, the smallest hint of a smile on his face.
"Congratulations!" She exclaimed, and let out a startled sound when they pulled her into a group hug. She blinked a few times and tried to bury the memory of why she hated hugs. She sighed happily before complying. "I'm so happy for the both of you."
They all pulled away. "So, since this technically makes Cyno part of our 'family', I was thinking we should have a dinner in Gandharva Ville to celebrate." Tighnari announced. The forest ranger's mouth widened to a soft smile. "Is Friday alright?"
Kinoko immediately nodded profusely. "Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes! Do you need help with the food or anything?" She could hardly wait for the end of that week.
"Actually, Collei already volunteered to cook dinner. She said she wants to make it a surprise." Cyno said.
She grinned. "I'm glad then." The three began their walk back to Gandharva Ville, the excitement energizing her. Then, she remembered the project. That blue house still had some details to work on.
After saying goodnight to the engaged couple, she walked inside, shutting the door behind her. Her face relaxed to a cold one as she took out the blueprints. Her paintbrush and pen moved swiftly, and she started to sketch out something to the side, her head slowly sinking to the desk while she stared out into space. Her head still hurts a lot. The hangover was really bad. She caught herself before falling asleep when she realized she had been sketching out...Wanderer. She stared down at the small sketch of him, his eyes surprisingly detailed. That was when she remembered what happened in the afternoon, and what she was ranting to Kaveh about. "I love him..." She whispered to herself, just to feel the words escape her lips. "I, Kinoko, love Koi..." She looked back down to the drawing and began to erase it. "But will I tell him that? No. I don't even know if his emotional capacity includes love." She buried her face into her hands and let her elbows rest on the table. "Ugh...I'm so, so stupid." She told herself.
