Kinoko could feel her entire body freeze up. Why couldn't she move? She knew she had to run, that she couldn't stay here for long, but something was gluing her to the floor. Possibly her own fear. She could feel her anxiety filling her up. No, she had to be stronger than this. If she couldn't move, she needed to talk. "Why do you even want to kidnap me? What am I useful for?" She asked with a shaky voice.

He laughed in amusement of her fear. "You're smarter than I thought. So, you don't even know of your own past?" She shook her head in confusion. He snickered, his cold eyes narrowing on her. "Let me enlighten you. Before you lost all your memories, you were one of us. You were the adopted daughter of La Signora, meant to become a harbinger." Her face grew in her horror, but before she could speak, he cut her off. "Then, Signora abandoned you because she claimed you to be useless." He chuckled darkly, approaching her slowly from behind.

"But, I can make you useful." He whispered in her ear, sending more shivers down her spine. "We are very much alike, you know." He said with a low voice. Kinoko felt her breathing grow uneven. This could be the end of it all, or maybe she was overthinking it. He has to be lying. She thought. There's no possible chance I couldn't be the daughter of a fatui harbinger, and I am not like him.

"If you follow me, and make me your god," He chuckled again. "You'll get many great things in reward." His lips brushed against her ear briefly before he pulled away, walking around and standing in front of her, his arms folded across his chest. "Well, what will it be?"

The moment he finally stepped away and allowed her to breathe was the moment where she thought of every single possible solution she could make to get out of here alive. Considering he didn't chase after her and Tighnari earlier that day, it's possible that she could make an escape. To where, though? She shook her head. Now was the time to run. "I will never be like you, and I will do no such thing." She said firmly as she darted off, using her surroundings, and her vision, to reach high heights.

She used her anemo vision to send wind pushing her up to the gate as he tried to grab for her, starting to summon his own delusion. She quickly sped off with her glider gifted to her a few years ago, and used the trees approaching in the Avidya Forest to hide in them. Once he was out of sight, she made her way to the tree above her house, sitting on the abandoned ledge on it. I'm definitely not getting sleep tonight.

The breeze was gentle, and the large tree had soft moss and plants all around it. The wooden ledge hung just above her house, and it was well hidden from the eyes. She leaned back on her hands, contemplating what even just happened to her. The Balladeer has to be lying, right? Why should I trust a fatui harbinger's word on my life? This is all so confusing...She thought.

After a sleepless night, Kinoko got out of bed and got ready for the day as she heard some chatter outside the door. Curious, she stepped outside and saw a blonde person with clothes fit for a traveler talking to Tighnari. Next to them was a small...floating person? Kinoko brushed off her confusion and walked over to them hesitantly.

"Uhm...Tighnari, who's this?" She asked, slightly nervous. She could feel her stomach doing flips and her palms sweat, which always happened, and she hated it.

"Huh?" He tilted his head, then looked back to the strange people in front of him. "Ah, yes, you probably haven't met them yet. This is the Traveler and Paimon. Traveler, Paimon, this is Kinoko. She's an architecture student at the Akademiya." She smiled softly.

"Hi, Kinoko! Nice to meet ya!" Paimon said with a chirpy voice. The traveler just waved with a friendly smile.

Kinoko could feel her nerves kick in as she straightened up to make a good impression. "Hi, nice to meet you two as well!" She said softly.

Tighnari nodded and looked at Kinoko. "So, Kinoko. I was just telling them about how Collei is still recovering from feeling ill. I need to go get some herbs for some medicine, and they're going to accompany me. Would you mind taking care of Collei for a bit while we're gone?"

Kinoko listened intently and nodded. "Not at all! I would love to!" She waved at them before walking over to the medical hut where Collei rested. Didn't Collei mention one day that she really wanted to meet this famous Traveler? Perhaps that's them...
