Chapter Twelve

Melinda had went back to sleep. This time she had a vision of a ghost and she started to, really get restless and jolted up in bed panting and sweating like crazy. Jim woke up and asked what was wrong, she told him about her vision and how it scared her. And that she should be use to it by now but still isn't. Jim sat up and rubbed her back, and told I am here baby. Relaxes whatever happens they are in it together, they will deal with it together, Melinda calmed down and laid on Jim's chest and he held her rubbing her back. Melinda fell asleep on him. Jim fell back asleep with her holding her. When the alarm went off, for them to get up. Melinda said no to comfy. Making Jim laugh and tell her I know baby I am too but we have to get up. Melinda got up and took a shower first, while Jim had made breakfast for them. She thought maybe one day they would take one together. Melinda had just gotten out and dressed, and was brushing her hair when Jim came in and asked if she saved him some hot water. Melinda laughed and told him of course she did. Jim got undressed and got in the shower, while she went out to eat breakfast. She had just finished hers, when he came out buttoning up his shirt. Melinda smirked and kissed him he returned the kiss, that turned into a make out session. Jim told her mmm later I promise, she told him okay that she will see him later. Jim had sat there and ate his own breakfast after Melinda left to school first. Jim had left about a hour after she did. Melinda was in the cafeteria talking to Andrea, Delia and Charlie. They were waiting for the time and when they realized what the time was. They all head to Jim's class, when they got there he was setting up for the day. He nodded at them, Charlie had shut the door, He said okay so what is my team up too. Charlie tells him well we were thinking this Melinda or one of the girls has the evidence on them. So she tries anything this weekend they have it. Jim tells him that is a good idea, Delia has what they did on the side of the school right. Delia tells him yup I sure do still have it. Jim tells him I will have Melinda download them later. They tell him okay, and they all do their homework, but Melinda she just sits there, and reads. Andrea asks her you finished already. Melinda tells yeah at home, dad and his new fiancee Amelia made sure that I did it. They were impressed that she was okay, with her dad being engaged to someone else, but not her mom being with someone else. Melinda tells them, that is because he was in the kitchen with no shirt on, like he had no respect that she had a kid. Amelia is different she always has something on. And remember she does things with me and asked us about Mall Of America in Minneapolis. They tell her that they can't wait for that trip either. Jim looks confused and Melinda tells him that Amelia had asked if she can take us for either spring break or summer break there, and so we are going. Jim shakes his head and says okay, well a ladies trip that is good and sweet of her. You guys better get your things for school from your lockers. It is almost time for the bell to ring. They all leave his classroom and goes to their lockers. Which left Mandy confused on what was going on, first it was only Melinda coming out of there, now it was all of them. She didn't know what was going on. She thought this was Melinda's way of throwing her off or something. She didn't know that they were up to catching her with the principal, which is where she just came from. They all went on with the day like they were not up to anything.  Mean time back at Jim's they were all looking at the camera footage and once again, they seen Mandy and Mr. Wakanna having sex. Jim shook his head, and tells them and yet they are worried about Mel and I. We hardly even kiss at school, so how do they know if we're together. Andrea tells them maybe she followed Melinda. She always has been jealous of Melinda, so that could be it. Melinda says," I agree with Andrea on that one." There was a knock on the door, Melinda got off Jim's lap and let him check the door. Bobbie was there at the door. Hey man what is up, I know there is only one day left until Friday, but Freddie was thinking of having one tonight, at his are you up for it. Jim tells him to hold that thought and come in. Bobbie did and Jim introduced him to Melinda and her friends Delia, Charlie and Andrea. They all said hi to Bobbie. Jim asked Melinda if she would mind if he went to a poker game with Bobbie, he won't be to late. Melinda told him yeah that she will see him when he gets back. Asked if was okay Delia, Charlie and Andrea stayed a bit longer. Jim told her of course. They shared a kiss and said their I love you's and Jim left. Delia asked how it is gonna be every Friday night Mel. Melinda told her yeah, he can spend time with his friends. I am not gonna tell him no or ask him to change. Just gives me some a long time and time to focus on other things, like hang out with you guys, or when I start working taking care of my store. They tell her that is true. Melinda playful slaps her friends, and ask what they want for supper. They order from D lux Diner. When it is delivered they eat their food and play some games. Before Delia, Charlie and Andrea leave to go home. Melinda cleans up and does the dishes they used. She had did her homework, left it for Jim to look at and went to bed. She couldn't wait until he came home to hold her. Jim came in about 11:30, and Melinda was already asleep. Jim and carefully took off his clothes and got ready for bed. He claimed in bed and held Melinda close to him. Melinda cuddled right into him. She felt safe in his arms. Since their first hug, she felt safe in his arms. It was something that she could not explain. Just something that she felt. She knew deep deep down inside she had found the one that she was meant to be with. Jim was falling really hard for her, there was one thing that he had wanted to do, but he knew that he had to talk to Tom about it first, and a chance that he would have to her mom as well. But he knew that he wanted to ask her to marry him. He knew that he would have to wait until she was out of school and he was willing to wait for that to happen. But he wanted everyone to know that she was taken. When morning came, it was raining so hard that power went out and they, heard on the radio that school was canceled for the day, Jim and Melinda and spent the day, making love, watching movies, playing games, and just having fun together. By time 5 o'clock rolled around it stopped. Melinda got ready for her sleepover, told Jim that it was, gonna be hard to sleep without him. He told her that he knows it will be. Because it will be for him as well. They shared a kiss and went their own ways. When she got there, Andrea and Delia was already there, They all played and things were going good. Until it came to truth and dare, is when it all went to hell. Mandy had asked Melinda had asked if it was true that she was, dating Mr. Clancy. Melinda responded that depends, on how serious you are with the principal Mandy. She looked shocked about that. Melinda looks at her and says you keep fucking with me, and doing shit like this I will out you both in school, and I promise you that your little boy toy will use his job you hoe, he is a married man and your fucking him. At least I am not dating a married man. Melinda grabs her stuff and leaves, Delia and Andrea tells her that they are coming with her, because they are not staying with her. Melinda tells them we can have a sleepover at mine, Jim will be gonna until late since it is a weekend. They left to go to hers and Jim's place, she called Jim and he looked at his phone, and took a breath. Mel what is up everything okay honey. Melinda told him no that everything is not okay, that she called Mandy out at the sleep over, she asked her in front of everyone if it was true that they were dating. Now all her other friends know how much of a hoe she really is. Anyway I am here with Delia and Andrea to have a sleep over of our own is that okay. Jim tells her yeah that is fine, that he will be quiet when he gets home, for her to have fun. That he will see her tomorrow, that he loves her. Melinda told him that he is the best, that she loves him too and see him then. They all ordered something and had fun just chilling out and watching movies. They thought this is what a sleepover should be like, not like what Mandy had both times. But Melinda couldn't help but think what was gonna happen Monday, since she did admit that she was dating Jim. She knew that she may of just gotten him in trouble. What they didn't know was that their other teacher was finally coming back after spring break. Which was in just 2 weeks. The girls had fallen asleep with a movie on, Jim had gotten home at 2:30 am. He shut the tv off and did the dishes, not waking the girls and then went to bed. Melinda had woken up at 4 to use the bathroom and smiled, when she seen Jim and went back to the living room. She knew he was home safe so she could relax. When morning came they ate breakfast that Jim made, he asked how the night went. They told him that it went good, and that they had fun but they were gonna head home. They went home to their own places, Melinda asked Jim how did that game go. Jim told her that it went good, he won three hands, and Ritchie won the rest. Melinda asked him if he is sure that he is okay with her, being there with him. Jim looked at her and ask why are you ask this for Mel, of course I am. Melinda told him because of when you had asked if it was okay if you went, it was like I don't know you didn't like it. Jim pulled her close to him and tells her, Mel I wasn't gonna mention this just yet, until I talk to your dad, but I want to marry you Melinda Gordon. Melinda looks stunned like she didn't know what to say about any of this. Jim looks at her do you want to marry me Mel or not. Melinda says yes I want to marry you. Jim smiled and says what do you say we, go and ask your dad what does he think about us getting engaged of course, the wedding won't be until after, your done with school, but at least you will have support though out school, besides your dad, you know that you will have me. Melinda smiled at him and says lets go and ask him. Jim looks at her and ask what now. Melinda tells him yes now. They go to her dad's place and knock on the door, just incase he and Amelia were in the living room doing anything. Tom comes to the door and says hey honey and Jim come on in. They come and Amelia tells her that, she has their ticket in the cart, she just needs to know if it is gonna be them or if her friend are gonna join them. Melinda tells her that she will find out tomorrow or Monday for her. Amelia tells her okay. Jim asks Tom for his permission for Melinda's hand in marriage. Tom ask what about school and her dreams. Jim tells him she will still do all that, and that he wants to after she is done with it all, she will have them both in her corner for support. Tom tells her that is smart thinking, you are already helping her, the that it appears and from what she has told me. So you have my blessing for it, but I want to be there when you ask her to marry you. Jim tells him that it was a deal, they shook hands on it. Melinda hugged him and told him thank you daddy. Tom told her that she is welcome that she has a real keeper there, Melinda looks and Jim and says that she knows that she does, she loves him no matter what. Jim told her that he feels the same way that she does. He kissed her and told that it is late, she has to eat and that he has to check, her homework before they head to bed for the night. Melinda smiles and so did Tom and Amelia. Jim and Melinda left to go back home. Once they got there, Jim check on her homework, and was impressed everything was done, but one thing. Jim calls her out to the kitchen. Melinda comes out and he ask why isn't your science homework done. Melinda told him that she didn't get it. He tells her have a seat he will help her. Melinda sits down and Jim helps her with it, just like he said he would. Melinda told him thank you. Jim told her that she is welcome, and anytime she needs help to come to him and he will help her. Melinda told him that she has the best fiance in the world. Jim smiles and chuckles, I haven't asked you yet Mel. Melinda tells him that she knows she just wanted, to see how it sounded to say that. Jim smiles and says I most certainly loves the sound of it, my beautiful fiancee. Melinda smiles at him and he kisses him softly. Jim kisses her back and carries her to the bedroom, once inside the bedroom, their clothes came off each other and they made each scream out in pleasure. When they were done making love they held each other close to one another. Jim fell asleep instantly, while Melinda laid awake and pictured their wedding day, and eventually fell asleep in Jim's arms. They woke up to a loud boom, it was just thunder and lighting outside, they hoped that it would past. Melinda never liked storms ever since she was young, they reminded her of some of her visions. Her and Jim was watching movies, and she told him no horror movies. Jim teased her or why not Mel now, would be the most perfect time to watch them. Melinda shook her head no. Jim teased her more, come on Mel I will be with you the whole time, I promise you that. Melinda told him ok he wins. Jim smirks and put in his favorite horror movie, which was sleepy hollow, and sat there with Melinda eating popcorn and asked what she wants for food. They can order in and Melinda told him that she is, in the mood of some chinese food. Jim ordered that for them, when it came they ate it and watched the movie. Melinda screamed and called Jim a jerk and told him that, is not that far from here, what is up with that. Jim told her that it is his favorite horror movie, that they should go and visit it sometime. Melinda told him Hell no, I don't want to see no dam headless horseman thank you very much. I am all set with that bad enough I deal with that on daily basis, she don't want to deal with him too. Jim told her alright fair enough Mel. I will respect that. Melinda tells him thank you that she is glad he does. Jim asks her about what happened to make, her skeptic about telling me about your gift, none of this you wanted to make sure I wouldn't tell. Melinda looked at Jim and told him about her ex Kyle and how he blew her off, and call her a freak and nut job because of it. So I wanted to get to know you more, before I told you, I didn't want to be called that again, it really hurt when he did that. I thought that he loved me and then he did that. Jim told her that he would never do that to her. That he loves her to much, and even if things didn't work out with them. He would never betray her like that. It is her secret to tell people not his. But that she doesn't have to keep that secret herself anymore. That he will carry it as well as her. Melinda kissed him and told her that is another thing I love about you. You make things feel like everything is ours. Jim smiles and tells her because as far as he is concerned, everything is theirs. They get married it will be will be like that too. Making her smile about it all. That was the one day that she couldn't wait for. But she knew that she would have to wait. Because Jim made it clear that she has to finish high school and college before they got married. Melinda had also loved that about him as well. That he was interest in her future and make sure that she had also followed her dreams, and supported her in what she had wanted to do, Which was own her antique shop. Jim asked her what she had wanted to name her antique shop. Melinda told him Same As It Never Was. Jim told her that is a interesting name. Melinda told him thank you. It is gonna be antiques and polished as if they never was. Jim told that is smart idea, that he likes the idea. And during their lunch times they can have lunch together. Melinda smiled and told him that she likes the sound of that. They cuddled and watched Clueless together. Jim told her that she is lucky that he loves her, because he is not a chick flick type of guy. Making Melinda laugh and tell him. Yeah well you do love me, and the way you act, you can't live with me. Jim tells her it is not a act Mel, that is the truth, that he would never be able to leave her, or live without her. Making a tear of joy stream down her cheek. Jim wiped it away and told her I promise you, here and now Melinda Gordon, you will never have to worry about feeling alone, or unwanted or unloved, because I'm madly in love with you, my life without you would be impossible. I could never do it. You are my world, my everything, I promise you that no matter what happens, no matter what life throws at us, we will deal with it together. Making more tears fall down her face, that is one thing that no one has ever told her before. Jim wiped them away and kissed her and told her she was gonna make him cry, if she keeps crying. Melinda laughed and wiped away a tear, and told Jim that she was the sweetest guy he ever met. How about they go to Terry town for Halloween. That she was willing to do it as long as she had him there with her. Jim told her that he will do anything with her. Even if means going with her on telling someone about her gift, he will go with her for support. That was the one thing that Melinda never had, was someone that was willing to be there for support. Melinda had asked him if he can get anymore perfect at all. Jim had asked her why is that. She told him because your willing to do just about everything with me. Go with me for support, help me achieve my dreams, and help with the ghost thing the best you can, the best that you can. Supporting me in every way possible. I never had anyone in my corner like that before. Jim told her well get use to it, because that is where he is gonna be for the rest of their lives. Melinda had smiled about that. Her grandmother was most definitely right, she did find the one that was meant for her. Jim was patient with her, kind, loving, supportive, understood her like no other, and accepted her for who she was, and accepted her gift, even though to some people it was nuts or crazy. But not to Jim it was all okay, as long as the love of his life came back to him. And was not hurt by any of them, and as long as he knew where she was because of what she did. That was all that matter to him. That was the best thing about their relationship. Melinda didn't care if he was a teacher or a paramedic or a fire fighter, as long as he was happy with what he did. Just like he had wanted for her. To Jim the best part of their relationship was that, she had supported him in that, and that she had her inheritance from her grandmother, and never asked him for any of his money, only that she had wanted to help with the bills when they came in. That was something that he was okay with. One of the many things that he had loved about her, that she didn't want him for the money at all, that she just wanted him and only him, for him just being him, for who he was or who he wanted to be. That was the one that thing that he didn't have in his last relationship before Melinda. The one thing that his mom didn't get about Ava at all. Jim was happy that he found Melinda and that she wanted him for his looks, his kindness, his careness, his love and his support. That they were in things together. Just like he had told her that they were, Melinda had felt the same way about him. Now that they had one another, they promised to never let that go or let the other one go, that they won't only deal with what ever life throws at them. But any fights that they have, that they will work things out, Melinda and Jim both liked the sound of that when they made that promise. Funny thing is they made that promise without even saying a around, just by their actions with each other. What they didn't know was that Maryann, Dan and Aiden was looking down on them. All three of them smiling about the fact that they found each other. They were happy for them. Maryann said I told you my dear you will find someone that loved you and accept your gift, just like I did long ago. Aiden and Dan smiled at each other, as Aiden had turned to Dan and told him you were right, your brother had fallen for a ghost whisper, a very beautiful one at that. I am gonna help make sure that they get married. I never did like that one he was with before. Maryann told him that her Melinda was a very special special person that she would do everything she can, to make Jim happy for their lives. They all smiled and walked away. Back down in earth, Melinda and Jim was sharing stories about her grandmother, Jim's father and brother. Making the the other laugh. Jim had realized that it was 11 at night. He tells Melinda alright, we can share more tomorrow, but we have to get to bed that they have school in the morning. Melinda had told him that he is right, they went to get ready for bed, got in the bed and held each other close, fell asleep. They had no idea what was going to happen when they got there. Things with Mandy the principal and them, was all about to come out in the open. They knew that they could handle it together, that Jim had something to fall back on. But that wasn't what worried them the most. When the morning came and they got up and ready and did what they had to do. They went to the school their own ways, and Melinda had met up with Charlie, Delia and Andrea and was hanging out with them outside, when someone told her that she had to come in the principal wanted to speak to her. Delia told her you got this, and remember you and Jim have what you need if it is about that. Melinda got up from the steps and went inside. While the sectary had called Jim down to the office as well. Mandy was sitting there too, Melinda whispered what did you do bitch. I promise you we won't be the only ones going fucking down. Jim got there and asked what is going on. Mr. Wakanna came out of his office and asked is it true, Ms. Gordon and Mr. Clancy are you two dating. Melinda spoke it is as true as it is that your fucking Mandy behind Ms. Locke back does she know you are. He looks shocked and tells him we have it all camera. But we're not telling you how we know or have that info. Mr. Wakanna tells Jim he is fired. That he can stay for the rest of the week until April break after that he is not to come back to work. He can remain there if he breaks up with Melinda. Jim told her fuck you, that is not gonna happen. Mr. Wakanna told him to pack up and stuff and leave today since he wants to have that attitude. Melinda went on the intercom and played the camera footage for everyone to hear. Mandy and Mr. Wakanna both were pissed at her. The school was closed for the day, Mr. Wakanna was fired as well as Jim. Melinda told him this was all her fault. Jim told her stop it no it wasn't. He fell for her just like he did her, he kept asking about everything because he just felt it somehow. He couldn't explain it he just did. Melinda had smiled and hugged him and told him that she loved him more than anything. Jim told her that he loves her just the same. They went to the station together, so that Jim could fill out a application. Jim had asked if she was sure that she was okay with this. Melinda told Jim that she was gonna kick his butt if he didn't stop. That she supports anything that he wants to do, just like he supports her in anything that she wants to do. Jim smiles and kissed her and left to go home with her. Jim had brought Melinda to a jewelry store, Melinda asked what are we doing her. Jim told her your gonna help me pick out your engagement ring. Melinda had smiled about that and they went in. They looked at the engagement rings and Melinda had found one that she liked. Melinda showed Jim what one it was, he smiled at her and asked if she could try it on. When Melinda did try it on finger and fit perfectly, so Jim had put a down payment on it. Making Melinda smile about that. Jim told her that he will finish the payment when he gets his new job. She was still upset about that, Delia had called her and asked, why was school closed and under investigation, and what happen in the office. Melinda told Delia everything that had happened. Delia told her that she can't believe that she had, the nerve to play that over the intercom like that. Melinda told her well I warned that tramp, she puts Jim and I under the bus, that her and her little boyfriend was gonna as well. Delia told her good for her, and told her that she let Andrea and Charlie know as well. Jim had thought about asking Melinda before her trip but knew, that he wouldn't be able to. But knew that he could plan something for her birthday with her dad, while she was on her trip with Amelia. Melinda had also got the confirmation that Delia and Andrea could go with them. Called her dad to let Amelia know that they could. Amelia had confirmed the four tickets, and the hotel reservations for them all. It was all paid for and she had told Melinda about it. She texted her friends about the fact that the trip was all set.
