Hiccup POV
I notice Jack waving his hands and yelling next to me. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I hiss.
"Challenging the girls," he smirks "only way for Blondie to come to like me."
"Ah! So you do like her!" I tease receiving a playful punch on the arm "ow" I complain.
"Warm up your vocals Hic, we're going to blow those girls out of the water!" He announces triumphantly.
I sigh and stare blankly at him making himself look like an idiot.
"Looks like we have competition!" the DJ yells excitedly. I feel myself being dragged towards the stage by Jack's icy cold hands.
No no no no! I can't do this! I will make a fool out of myself. Everyone will laugh. I can't do this!!!
I make my way up the steps leading to the stage and position myself next to Jack. The DJ tosses two microphones at us. "You guys are up first!" he announces. I gulp "what song boys?"
I turn to Jack "Embers!" I hear Jack say. Phew! At least I actually know that song.
"Ok boys! Take it away!"
I take a deep breath as the music begins.
Jack: There were days when each hour was a war I fought to survive
There were nights full of nightmares and I dreaded closing my eyes
Hiccup: There were skies that burst open with a downpour to drown me alive
But the world took a spark like a match in the dark
And the fire brought me to life
Jack: So I'm fanning the flames to climb so high
Hiccup: 'Cause theres no other way we can stay alive
Both: 'Cause we're burning bright
As we all unite
And when it's all said and done
We'll shine like the sun

As it fills with light

Hiccup: And you'll find there'll be mornings

Jack: But you'll fight with a passion

We end as I stare into the audience, a grin spreading across my face. I turn and follow Jack who's stalking up to Merida with a smirk on his face.
"Beat that red!" he mocks as she glares into his eyes.
"Don't worry," she grins kneeing him in the stomach and snatching his microphone "we will."
Jack stands, hunched over beside me. Wow, she must have one very strong knee to get Jack in that state.
She strolls to the middle of the stage. I feel the microphone slipping from my grip as Blondie stands next to Merida, swishing her hair back and forth.
"Okay girls!" the DJ announces "what song?"
"Calling all the monsters!" Merida declares almost instantly.
"Ok, good luck girls."
