"What's wrong, Aurora? You look tensed." Sarah noticed.

"I think someone stole my diary."

"What? Really? Was there something personal written on it?"

"Nah, it's blank. I dislike diary writing. And even if, there was something written on it, it's locked, and I have the key."

"Oh, then, what's the problem?"

"My mom gifted it to me on my birthday."

"Oh god. We should try to find it then. Who could have stolen it?"

"Well, there is one person in my mind-"

Someone tapped Aurora's shoulder, and she turned to look, "Hey, loser!"

"Aren't you one of the Bethany's sidekicks?" Aurora tilted her head.

"Yeah. And guess what, Bethany has your diary. If you want it, meet her at the basketball court during break time."

"You fucking bitch!" Sarah raised her arm to punch the sidekick.

"It's okay, Sarah", Aurora calmed Sarah, "Fine, I will come."

"Wait, what?" Sarah became confused.

"Yeah, that's better like it", the sidekick left the class.

"Aurora, you shouldn't go. She is bullying you." Sarah furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah, I got that. But if I don't, wouldn't she continue to do that? Lemme remind her where she stands." Aurora smirked.

It was break time. Aurora and Sarah left for the basketball court. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" Sarah asked Aurora worried.

"Yep."

"Oh god, I am scared."

"Don't be. Don't worry, it will be fine."

As they entered, they noticed that a few students were waiting there. Noah, Liam and Ethan were one of them. Sarah went to Ethan, "What are you guys doing here?"

"I have no clue either. Bethany called everyone." Ethan shrugged.

Sarah went to Aurora, "No girl, this is bad."

Aurora spotted the diary in Bethany's hand while she talked to a guy wearing the basketball team's outfit. He was holding a basketball. She walked to her, "What do you want?"

Bethany turned to face her, "I want you to know your place in this school, nerd."

"Right."

"Overconfident, I see."

"Just come to the point, or else give my diary back." Aurora reached to grab the diary.

"Nope." Bethany moved her hand away quickly, "Not so fast. First, win a challenge."

"What challenge?"

Bethany took the basketball from the guy's hand and passed it to Aurora. She caught it.

"Play a match against the best basketball player from the academy. If you get the basket, you will get the diary. But if you lose, you will have to bow down to me in front of the whole school and say I am the best." Bethany twirled her hair strand with a finger.

"Hmmm but doesn't seem fair. If I win, you will bow to me and ask for forgiveness in front of the whole school. Never cross paths with me or bother me." Aurora crossed her arms.

"Bet, done."

Sarah came behind Aurora, "No, don't listen to her."

"I will be fine, don't worry", she comforted Sarah.

Aurora smirked looking at Bethany, "Bitch, you are gonna regret this."

The basketball guy and Aurora stood in the middle of the court, facing each other, ready to compete.

"You don't have to do this, you know", the guy whispered. He had blonde hair and defined cheekbones. Blue eyes deep as the ocean. His skin tone was tan, probably due to playing in the sun. He was a lot taller than Aurora, usual for a basketball player.

"You know what, you get the ball first, an advantage for you. I like challenges. Let's see how good you are." Aurora smiled.

A basketball teammate did a countdown to start, "1...2...3...GO!" He blew his whistle.
