The guy dribbled the basketball swiftly and ran towards his basket, thinking he already won the round. To his surprise, Aurora moved with lightning speed and cut his path.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, she ducked quickly to get the ball. Before he could process what had happened, it was with her now. She dribbled it with effortless ease, running towards the other side of the court, aiming for her basket.
He regained his functioning and went after her. Her eyes were fixated on the basket; she was trying to cover as much distance as possible. He came running and stood in front of her to block her aim.
"Not so fast", Aurora smirked, pretended to take a step to the left. He was tall but she took advantage of his stance; his legs were far apart. She struck the ball on the ground in between them, ran past him from the right, and caught it as it rebounded.
With each step, she gained momentum as she dribbled. He thought he still had time to stop her, she was still far away from the basket and went racing towards her.
But she made a jaw-dropping move; she had already leapt into the air with a powerful jump and released the ball with a flick of her wrist. Sending it hurtling towards the net in a perfect arc.
The sound of the ball hitting the backboard echoed through the court as it dropped cleanly through the hoop, eliciting a deafening roar from the crowd.
"HOLY SHIT! What the fuck?" the guy was astonished. Only a professional player who had spent countless hours perfecting his skills could aim and get the basket from so far.
Sarah came running from the crowd and bounced into Aurora's arms, "WHAT THE FUCK? WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!"
Aurora laughed at Sarah's reaction.
Everyone gathered around her to cheer for her victory. Ethan, Liam, and Noah went to the basketball guy.
"Wow, so the best basketball player in the entire academy lost against the newbie?" Noah chuckled.
"I-I, how? How is this even possible?" The guy threw his arms up in frustration, "What is her name?"
"Aurora, and how she did it? You will have to ask her yourself." Ethan looked at Aurora standing in the middle of the crowd, laughing.
"Well, excuse us, we would like to join the celebration." Noah went towards the crowd, and Ethan followed.
"Cheer up, Logan. Maybe one day you will get to defeat her." Liam gave him a pat on the head before joining them too.
Aurora's popularity increased by a great amount. She was perfect at everything; everyone was dazzled by her talents. Except Bethany, who was forced to beg Aurora's forgiveness in front of everyone.

Aurora exited the English class, and Logan stood near the door, leaning against the wall. She noticed him and started striding fast into the hallway, trying to ignore his presence.
"Hey! Hey! Wait!" Logan jogged to catch up with her, "I need to talk to you!" He was walking with her now, "You can't ignore me. I have questions, man. Come on, stop it."
Aurora was still ignoring him.
Logan started blabbering, "Please, please, please, please, please, ple-"
"OK, FINE!" She stopped him.
"Hi, I am Logan."
"Right. I am Aurora."
"Tell me, how did you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Are you a basketball player? There is no way you aren't."
"No, I am not."
"Then, how tf did you do it???"
"Ugh, fine. My full name is Aurora Baker."
"Aurora Baker? What do you mean?" Logan thought deeply, and then it clicked to him, "WAIT! Are you the famous basketball player Adam Baker's sister?!"
She nodded.
"No way!" Logan was stunned, "That's so cool! You have to play with us! It will be such a good practice for our team."
"Noooo, not in a million years."
He started blabbering again, "Please, please, please, please, please, please, ple-"
"Fine! Just please shut up."
"Yes! Yes! Yessss. Tomorrow after school, at the basketball court. We will be waiting!" Logan ran off, waving bye.
"Wow!" Aurora shook her head and laughed.
