No one could've prepared the King for the death of his Hand, one of his most loyal friends and his father figure, specially not when Jon Arryn had had a perfect bill of health until then.

As the body of Jon Arryn was prepared by the Silent Sisters for travel and burial, Cersei Lannister watched carefully from one of the galleries, a frown settled on her face as she peered at the Silent Sister's in action.

Footsteps were heard approaching the Queen's Lady-in-waiting, but she didn't turn around to see who is was. She could tell just by the footsteps that it was her twin brother, Ser Jaime Lannister.

"As your brother, I feel it's my duty to warn you: You worry too much. It's starting to show." Jaime told his elder twin sister in a slight mocking tone, one that the Lannister siblings oft used when speaking to each other.

"And you never worry about anything." Cersei commented before looking at her brother. Her gaze soft, although a different softness than when she gazed at the Queen. "When we were seven, you jumped off the cliffs as Casterly Rock. One hundred foot drop into the water. And you were never afraid." she recounted, furrowing her brows.

"There was nothing to be afraid of until you told father." Jaime replied in an earnest tone as he leaned against the pillar, much in the same manner than his twin was doing. "We're Lannisters. Lannisters don't act like fools." he mocked in a near perfect copy of their father's words and tone.

This had Cersei cracking a small smile as she remembered well when their father said things like that. Her smile fell quickly, and her emerald eyes returned to the corpse with gold shrouds. "What if Jon Arryn told someone?" she whispered.

"But who would he tell?" Jaime questioned curiously, almost dubious.

"Aemma." Cersei replied almost frightfully. In all her years of bedding the Queen, never once did she tell her that she was also bedding her twin brother, a member of the Kingsguard who was meant to be celibate.

"If he told the Queen, she would've confronted us, seperated us by sending you back to Casterly Rock or your husband's home, and then stripped me of my position. Or worse, both our heads would be skewered on the city gates by now." Jaime stated, trying not to grimace as he knew that if Aemma found out, she would most likely raise hell.

For whilst she might be a loving and doting mother, she was also a visciously possessive lover.

"Whatever Jon Arryn knew or didn't know, it died with him." he attempted to soothe.
