Behold, Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. For decades, the heart of Riverdale. Now, the latest casualty in the town's ongoing battle against darkness. ••• "TTFN, Smithers." Veronica says as she and Quinn head for the exit.
"Oh, wait, Miss Veronica, Miss Quinn. You might want to take the side exit." Smithers tells them.
"Why?" Quinn asks.
"Yeah, why, Smithers? Because they might bump into me coming in from an early run?" Hiram asks.
"Good morning, father." Veronica says to Hiram.
"Hello, goodbye, daddy." Quinn says and goes to step around him but he steps in her way.
"Mijas. You leave before breakfast, you come home after your mother and I have had dinner. I can't remember the last time we had a meal as a family." Hiram says.
"I can. It was at the Dakota. The day you got arrested." Veronica says.
"Well, perhaps we should talk about that. Tonight at dinner. The four of us." Hiram says.
"Thanks but no thanks." Quinn says.
"Unfortunately, I have plans. To quote that New Yorker cartoon, how about never, Dad, is never good for you?" Veronica says and then she and Quinn leave. ••• "It's another win for the bad guys. No one was there. His entire staff quit. He says he's not sure how long he'll be able to keep the doors open, maybe not even a week." Jughead says as he Betty, Archie, Quinn and Veronica sits at the table outside of the school.
"It's because of what happened to my dad. People are freaking out. And I got to be honest, guys, I don't see myself going back any time soon." Archie says.
"Wait, I'm sorry, am I hearing acceptance? I'm not letting psychopath with a gun dictate what happens to our place. Jug, you went crazy trying to save the drive-in." Betty says.
"I can't take on anymore social issues right now. My hands are full." Jughead says.
"With your dad, of course. And he should be your priority. I'll take point on helping Pop Tate." Betty says.
"I'll help, too, Betty. Hey, anything to get me away from my parents, I'm in." Veronica says.
"Hell just say the word and I'm there Bets." Quinn says.
"Another Bee, Vee and Q team-up. They should really make a video game about you guys. I gotta jet. I'm off to meet my dad's court-appointed joke of a lawyer at the Sheriff's Station." Jughead says as he grabs his bag and puts it around his shoulder.
"I'm gonna come with you, Jug. I gotta drop some flyers off for Sheriff Keller." Archie says and then stands up.
"Bye." Quinn says and then Archie leans down and pecks her lips before walking away with Jughead. ••• "I know you haven't been sleeping in your room. So where exactly have you been spending your nights?" Quinn asks Archie as he opens the door after she knocks on it. ••• "So, Betty?" Archie asks as they walk towards school.
