Vault of Haven Academy

In the Vault under Haven Academy, the sound of a weapon clanging is heard. Neopolitan stares at the door that once guarded the Relic of Knowledge; the door itself is now a stone wall since the Relic has been taken out.

Cinder: Now you understand.

Cinder Fall is sitting on a boulder, flicking her dagger and changing its form. Miguel Diaz is standing close by.

Cinder: I've got to get the Relic before it can be secured in Atlas. It's the only way that Salem... (sighs before she finishes) It's the only way we can accomplish our goal.

Neo looks back at Cinder.

Cinder: You're not the only one who wants Ruby dead. But unfortunately, Salem does not feel the same way...

Neo places her umbrella on her shoulder and walks toward Cinder.

Cinder: I've been... instructed not to kill her... (melts her dagger in her hand) But you... You have no such orders. You can do as you please.

Cinder's dagger disintegrates and she stands up to walk towards Neo.

Cinder: Help me get to Atlas, help me find her... and the rest is up to you.

Neo ponders Cinder's words for a moment before smiling at her and holding her hand out. Cinder takes Neo's hand with her own, sealing the deal with a handshake.

Miguel: I do have one request to ask of you, Neo.

Neo raises an eyebrow as she looks at Miguel.

Miguel: Don't kill Rody Azuris. I need him for a few things in mind, I don't care enough about Ruby Rose and what you do to her, but that boy is on the "No-kill" list. At least for now.

Neo ponders this for a moment before she nods her head at Miguel, signaling she agrees to his terms.

Cinder: Good. Now, time for you to explain why you're still here, Diaz.

Miguel: In all honesty? I think you need to accept my help more than trying things, YOUR way.

Cinder: How so?

Miguel: For starters, Raven and Donald almost killed you. They left you to die here and your allies are rather... Slim pickings. Salem views you as a slightly more valuable pawn on her chessboard. Emerald will follow you like a puppy dog, so long as you give her reason to. But recently I fear that may not always be the case. She may turn against you as you haven't really shown her what she wants most in this world. Mercury on the other hand, well, he outright is starting to resent you. I can imagine him finally breaking free of your clutches and trying to work for Salem himself. Hazel is in it for himself. Tyrian is a psychopath. Watts hates you, and Happy is... Well, Happy. 

Cinder: What. Is. Your. Point?!

Miguel: My point, Fall, is this: you need a true ally. (she raises an eyebrow at him) I'm serious! You need someone who can pick you up when you fall, someone who will be there should you ask for it. But most importantly, you need someone who shares a similar dream to your own and will help you with your goals. Like me.

Cinder: YOU, want to help me with my goals?

Miguel: Don't believe me? I need the power of the Champion, all of it. Only then can I accomplish my dreams of taking the world and making a better one. But Salem and the other kingdoms are in the way.

Cinder: You can't kill Salem. No one can.

Miguel: Who said anything about killing her? (Cinder becomes confused) I'm not talking about killing her. I'm talking about keeping the Queen... Chained down or contained for the foreseeable future.
