A Tale Involving a Tree

The sound of a page turning is heard.

Narrator: A door opened for Alyx at the Tree.

The door automatically opens. The Great Tree of the Ever After is shown, towering over the Jungle Acre.

Narrator: Before she goes back home, the girl had a great many questions to ponder.

Then the Tree is later shown in a sketch from the storybook.

Narrator: After all the lessons she learned, and the friends she'd made (the page turns) and lost.

Summer Rose is sitting on her chair, telling the story of "The Girl Who Fell Through the World" to a young Yang Xiao Long and Ruby Rose, who are fast asleep.

Summer: (narrating) Who had she become? Would she still be the same Alyx when she went back home? The leaves of the tree rustled, and on the wind, Alyx heard one more question...

Elsewhere in the Ever After, Ruby is seen, now petrified in wood.

Summer: (narrating) What... are you?

NeoCat and Darkness suddenly walk past Ruby, with Light's eyes widening as they pass her. Rody Azuris is slung over Darkness's shoulder as he promptly drops him and Light to the ground, Rody isn't responsive as Light groans in pain. Darkness and NeoCat examine the open doorway as it opens up to them. Light can be seen trying to tear his way through the bindings that Darkness placed upon him.

NeoCat: Finally, I will be free from this place! I must say I wasn't expecting this to be that easy, at least compared to the last time I made the trek here.

Darkness: Unlike some people I keep my word. And you've kind of gotten me curious, what did happen to Alyx's brother Lewis after you made it up here?

NeoCat: Hmm... does it really matter? All you need to know is that the door will take us to your world, speaking of which where will we end up?

Darkness: First things first, I gotta reunite with those two weaklings and then take over the main body. But how exactly do I do that?

NeoCat: Ah... but how do pieces of the puzzle fit together? You must put together the shattered vessels heart to make it move your way.

Darkness: I never did like those riddles you always spoke in. Alright Rody, time to-

Darkness is suddenly blasted with a beam of light and sent backwards as Light stands up and moves in a stance to protect Rody. Darkness growls as he stands up to meet his other half.

Darkness: So, the pacifist wants some action, huh? How hypocritical of you.

Light: I'm only doing this because you've lost your damn mind! We're supposed to offer a choice to the Champion, not take him over! He must find balance between the two of us, not you!

Darkness: What balance?! (points to the catatonic Rody) He doesn't even know what he wants right now! How is he supposed to bring balance back to the lives of millions of people?! It's a damn fools dream is all that is, and I will NOT be forced back into his weak subconscious, not anymore!

His hands start glowing with magic and Aura as he makes a stance against Light, who sighs in aggravation and raises his arms to fight. He looks at Rody first.

Light: Rody, listen. I know you don't feel like you deserve to live, that it's all your fault. Well, it's not. That's part of the job, sometimes you have to fail before you can succeed, it's from failure that we learn to grow not from succession. It's from the pain that makes you human, to keep your humanity is the secret to keeping your soul from being absorbed, to prevent you from becoming like Djin.
