"The flowers?" Ada pointed out as Damon set them now in a vase next to Aurora's bed causing the girl to turn to them and smile. She loved how considerate Elijah was.

"Elijah sent them. I told him I wasn't feeling well..." she cleared her throat then looked down to the envelope. She could take the whole week to open it but she was just dying to know what it said. Out of impulse she tore it open.

Both Damon and Ada exchanged looks, they thought it would take longer for her to open it. They were surprised she didn't even think twice about it. As he started to unfold the paper she read through until she reached the bottom and took a deep breath.

"What does it say?!" Damon urged her and she looked up with tears in her eyes again. He frowned; he couldn't tell if they were tears of happiness or sadness; he was just urging to know the answer.

"Somehow...it says it's not Klaus'" Aurora handed the paper to her mother wanting her to read it as well. Ada skimmed through the whole paper and Aurora was right. Klaus was not the father of the child.

"Rory this is good..." Ada smiled then looked at her daughter only to see she was still not happy. "What's wrong?"

"How? I don't think this is right...I'm not saying I want Klaus to be the dad but how can it be Elijah?!" Aurora rambled on as she sat the paper down and looked up to her parents.

Ada took a moment remembering the conversation she had with Damon. She knew the answer but was afraid how she would react to it.

"Do you really want to know?" Ada asked, sitting on the bed. Aurora didn't even have to hear the answer. She knew what she was about to say already with the way she was very cautious of her words. She was the one that asked her to not mention anything of the curse to her.

"Wait, how can it already be happening?"

"It just does. Sometimes it doesn't exactly hurt you right away or begin to hurt you slowly, sometimes...it gives you beautiful things to experience with the one you love to later take it away" Adas words hurt. They hurt to Aurora and they hurt to herself to even say them.

"That's why you were so convinced it was his..." Aurora concluded, she had forgotten how much her mom actually knew about it and how it could begin to take effect.

"Yes, you having Klaus' child would hurt your relationship with Elijah but it was too easy. The witches don't do easy. They shape their own narrative to keep you completely broken, especially us two. I am pretty sure they are sick of us..." she tried to lighten her daughter's mood with the last sentence.

Aurora knew everything made sense now. She got more confirmation that the child was Elijahs but she just needed something more to confirm it entirely. She was still so skeptical and she just didn't want to tell him yet until she was entirely sure. It would only get his hopes up.
